and i never really "understood" them as there was some wierd goings on with issuing c shares or something a while back?

Just checked with my guy,can still buy/sell 250k but only sell at .2,presumably there is a chance of "some" value here still!!!!

Not wishing to tempt fate or get drawn into a debate here but I think bae is 'bigger' than what is effectively a regional issue. Lots of issues seem to 'melt away' in the mix with a big oppo like this in my opinion. Div arrived today which is the main motivation for most investors in this one,momentum back over 3 quid would be good too,at some point plus the chance of company changing events in a positive way but in the meantime a well-covered div keeps me holding,gla!!

Can you get it to dribble up over 3 quid please mate!!! Never was expecting my extra ones at the end of the month month to be a veritable average down!!

Ex-div 30th of november, 13.93p, payable 18th jan, scrip price announced on the 7th dec,calculated over the 5 days before and after the ex date of the 30th........to calculate the percentage,divide the book cost by the number of shares and annualise the full dividend, on the current price its just under 6%.

Crikey mate if it carries on until 2020, we'll all be bust!! Useful point on the prefs,didn't trade bby as such as i have a core holding in the sipp but sold a few off when they were well into the 3,s and bought some back below 250,one of the rare occasions i got it right! My strategy has changed over the last couple of months though as all my yielders that do it are now on scrip/drip which is a good way of building up holdings when the prices are so low and the costs are minimal. Havent got any shell but i'm holding a few BP.

Well mate,basic commodities and we,ll always need milk! Totally off radar and under-valued in my opinion. Have a few in my yielders and 'add' subject to funds with a 2 in front. has been a growth share but maybe just taking a bit of a breather,results next week? Good buy price currently with six and a half on the yield,spread a bit twitchy at times but as a longtermer,a few pennies at this level are immaterial really. O/t never went for the bby pref shares but have added to my holding there over the summer,hope your investments going okay.

Regrets,I've had a few!! I remember selling elementis that I bought for early 20,s and thinking how clever I was selling at 30,not selling tenon when the IC tipped them in the 60,s,buying rbs rights at a couple of quid,ouch!! Onwards and upwards,we are where we are and what happens next remains to be seen lol!

The Aberdeen ones seem a bit mid range on the SP and stingy on the yield compared with blnd etc but I guess steady and well spread on their investments,will investigate!! The battersea ones are like a handful of total punts I have tucked away,maybe maybes and in full acceptance I may lose hence not going in heavy!! Others in that camp are cosalt,coliers,hmv,yell,eti,plus a few others I can't actually remember!! I have some cage idea that they are truly stashed in the big drawer and one day I could open it up and find a real winner(my ambition is to find a 'next at 8p' as they were in the nineties,priced to fail etc but not sell for a small profit on the way up) but the truth is we can't hide our stuff!! Another one I'm looking at is segro,6ish on the yield,doesn't seem to have done much of late,last time I had them was pre-cons in the 30,s which is now a third higher,I think they took over Brixton and I forgot all about them. I've got a few British land as keepers from below a fiver and believe it or not some dodgy REO(but only a couple of hunted quids worth at about a penny-just on case) and am also looking at songbird(the canary wharf ones) but not sure if there's any yield? Also have a hankering for some alpha pyranees below 30 which are great yielders but not sure about investing in mainland Europe real estate at the moment!!

I'll check with my broker on that next week mate,scrip and drip is a relatively new thing for me as I've tended to go for cash payments in the past but my understanding is one buys shares in the market and the other issues new ones but thought it was the 5 days surrounding the ex date which would balance the spread between the ex and post price(make quite a difference on something like astrazen!),or is that what the record date is all about? In the past I've sold on the exd day and still received the div despite selling without the entitlement to it but never been clear what the record date is all about as you're getting the div already,unless it's something to do with cert holders? Never had 3i so don't know anything about them. EMG is looking very much in top up territory,ex next month and pretty much on a ten year low? Have a few already but could be persuaded to add!!!
