Looking forward to my extra avivas on scrip/drip but not buying anymore for the time being. Well done on GLEN,looking forward to RSA joining the the insurance rally as it's also one of my biggies and seems to be languishing. Maybe we need to be on the lookout for china buying some of our stuff now they're lending money to the west(so we can carry on buying their stuff rofl!)?

Hopefully things will settle a bit and we,ll start creeping back up to where we should be here,over 3 quid lol!!

Sounds like a full time occupation,but good fun! Hold the banks and the only one in profit is hsba(cos i bought them less than a fiver!),sitting on a lot of rsa,good div but doesnt want to join the rally,my aviva,sl and rsl all well up there. Never had the silver ones and watching the scottish ones(placing to finance the opening imminent?),xstrata i do like but havent been in them since the big crash,nearly got back in when i saw an 8 in front but went for broken hill instead. On topic,they just keep buying their own shares,good for us as a tiny reverse-dilution maybe,shame they don't return to shareholders as extra divs since they've got so much dosh to spend,hmmm? Dixons sit with a multitude of others in my maybe maybe big drawer!!!

I think it evens itself out really on the drip/scrip prices,depends how many you,ve got i guess, i,ve got loads of small holdings in my sipp so to try and beat the system would be too time consuming,the main account a lot of mine are effectively average downs on the extra shares but the costs are 1% or the extra whereas my broker would charge 19 quid for the baff alone,old school and pricey but worth its weight as i can check liquidity,order board,div dates etc etc and i get a case of fine fine at xmas lol!!!

Dont know the background mate but rare to see any placings open to us little people as 00,s, too expensive and time consuming,easier just to dump the price and dilute us! Mind you pendragon let us share the spoils recently(only have a few which had to average down on the rights price anyway,typical!)

Good idea,shareholder benefits and all that. My old man has all his on certificate so gets all the offers,vouchers etc but i'm on nominee so just get the divs/extra shares. Did they have a 5p placing a while back,kind of got that as my marker but wary on liquidity on any of the tiddlers.

Well i bought them for the l/t so not really into the momentum side,set up all my yielders for div-reinvestment so trying to grow the holdings rather than dart in and out so much these days. Have a shedload of specs and recoveries to "play with",just need some(any) of the things to go up lol!!!

The recent ipo,never looked at them,my biggie is BLT,reloaded at about 17 average which i'm comfortable with and a bit more of a yield than the others from what i can see.

Useful when they're dual listed on the asx,see which way the sentiments headed. I guess i'm vaguely curious about them because all my other high hopers are in africa,greenland,falkland islands,you name the place, i've probably got something there lol!!!

Cheers for that,had a word with my broker on them first thing and when he said you could buy up to 250k of them and only sell 1k,i reached the conclusion they were "facing the wrong way" so left it but keeping an eye on it! With most of the aims i get into,i'm wary of any rises as they normally get diluted on the back of them but am surprised on the fall with the amount of media coverage which you'd have thought would have hyped it and spiked it today!

Morning,not aware if they've got fingers in that pie too mate. I do hold centrica in my yielders but haven't been chasing divs for a while,got caught badly on CW and TCG which are now in the recovery drawer,but I'd say centrica are a modest and safe punt on that basis. What's your view on the scottish miner,saw you on there,oversold now or all a bit toppy to start with,the estimates didn't look that exciting but thought they might be a good one for the geography as homegrown and all that?

Was it Golden Eye,Alan Cumming playing the part by any chance lol!! Chasing divs on whitbread eh,interesting one that I've never had. Into marsdens and the recovery ones(enterprise,punch and the ones that split from punch),my old man likes youngs but never had them. On dixons,I wish I'd bought mine as cheap as you! Reckon there's an easy 20/30p to be had here but keeping mine as income alongside the grids,azn etc etc.

Nicely predicted NK,so what's the view on the 3 quid breach,as and when? Quick bounce to the 330,s and stabilise or am I being over optimistic?

Payable 30th November and last date for 'drip elections' (div reinvests), 9th November. SP predictions,who knows,seems to be hanging onto the 2,s currently,comfortable that they are a 3+ quid share but subjectively as long as the div is paid,whether it's 275 or 325 doesn't really make much difference as I'm not selling or trading them,below 3 would be good for the extra shares for those of us not having the cash next month.

Surprised that lot dare have any opinions about such matters lol!!! Sitting tight here for income,bounce and the chance of a rise on demergers or whatever it was was mentioned recently,with some of the horror stories we've got stuck with(and still do on occasions!),i like to have ones like these and the grids etc as core holdings!!
