Thank u @Dee .The Govt benefits with the upstream stuff if it comes to their country, battery maufacturing, EV manufacturing and associated ancilliary industry. TBH, tho, there is enough resource and space for them to get involved as well. I don't think they will, but it seems to me to be crazy talking about a 200y resource. In 50 years lithium may have been yesteryears news?

i was looking at the al shabaab issues in NE Mozambique. Total have a big gas development there and have spent many millions. I think the project was halted and workers evacuated. NE Mozambique and SE Tanzania are similar areas and populations - both deprived regions. A lot of the problem is that local people see the big foreign development but feel and see no benefit to themselves. It shows how important it is to keep the project part of the local infrastrucure.
I don't see it as a big problem for us - Ruckwa is @300 miles away but worth keeping an eye on.
Haven't heard if Covid probs are worsening but this could be an issue

Yes @ daygrow. Hopefully they will RNS after they've analysed seismic and say : 'we think we have x% chance here and y% chance here' . They've been pretty upfront so far.
Good volumes traded so far today and if it keeps rising like this i might top slice a few to maybe add later on bad drill.

@cleverthoughts - ganfeng requested to buy 53M shares at the placing, but they won't be issued until the deal is signed off by Beijing. I'm guessing this will be early May based on previous timelines.The price will be the placing price of 45p

I think they're talking about Nickle and Cobalt. Cobalt for sure is an issue because of reliance on Congo for supply. LFP batteries use neither but their energy density is less than Lithium/nickle/cobalt. LFP has been coming to the fore of late, hence the rising price of carbonate against hydroxide. Will be interesting to see which way(s) the industry will go

I don't fully agree with the 'unstable area' point : Mexico has a lot of the big auto co's with assembly plants here. Also Mexico City has the 'hoy no circla' policy where cars can only be driven on certain days to reduce polution.
I've never been happy with the Chinese involvement, by that i don't mean Ganfeng, but the fact that they're under the thumb of Beijing, which isn't ideal, particularly at the present, although maybe not so much when the deal was signed. At the time of the deal we moaned about it, but where were all the 'Western' co's that wanted to get involved? Ganfeng took the lead and fair play to them, let's just hope that CCP steers a friendlier course

bed and isa, dai , check with u'r broker for the cost. Effectively they are selling and buying back but they should be able to do it instantaneously. such trades will be shown from time to time on here as a buy and a negative buy (don't quote me on that last bit).

In the last interview with crux (i think) PS was asked about listing on other boards. He said they may move to London main board - but would concentrate on getting mine to production first.
Personally I don't think he should worry too much about PR stuff , just make sure the mine progresses as plan and keep us up-dated. Anybody who wants to invest in Lithium and has done only basic research will be aware of BCN and Ganfeng. We have one of the biggest lithium resources in the world and the biggest lithium supplier in the world as a partner.
Yes, probably AIM does us a dis-service, and maybe we got too many short termers on board with the placing.
I will try and buy more if we go sub-40p again but my boots are already filled :)

@bluegrass - my reasoning is that trades of £50k - £100+k are institutional and have become commonplace since the placing . Trades of this order were rare before the placing. Until somebody posts on this board that -''I sold £70k worth of BCN today because x...y...z'' then i cannot understand why it is happening.
The only explanation i've come up with is that placing shares were bought with borrowed money hoping to be flipped for a quick profit; when the shares did not rise then they have to sell at loss to pay back the loan. I don't know anything about margin buying and would assume clients have months instead of weeks to pay back .....but....it's the best i can come up with. I would be very happy for someone to educate me as to what is actually happening here!

To answer your question : they seem to be geared up to mine La Ventana concession first which is not JVed with Cadence.
I don't think the COE estate dispute is particularly a big deal in the grand scheme of things; its 3% of part of the SLL project. To put that into perspective - the market cap of the company has dropped by more than 3% just today .
It's frustrating for me because us PI's are kept in the dark. We haven't been told what happens with this 3% in relation to the Ganfeng deal.
I'm like you, I don't understand why this Mcap is so low. For me, it's to do with the placing. Lots of money is still moving here as a consequence of that. It makes no sense to me because ii's are selling at a loss to the placing price. For an AIM miner, this is about as sure a bet as your gonna get to increase your money in the next 2 years so why don't they just hold???
I'm tied to the mast with this anyway and will stay on board until production - might skim a bit off if this corrects to 80p but otherwise its just patience. I've been here 4 years so another 2 won't kill me.!

Thanks for posting back Addicknt and Kluck. The case was due to come to court back in May last year , then came covid. A new date of 9th March was given in the latest company reports RNS (hiding down towards the bottom) but that's been missed as well.
The court will hear, first of all, whether the case is now time barred? but you'd assume if it was time barred the legal teams would have spotted this?
Anyway, should all come out in the wash eventually.
I guess that P Secker feels at least some obligation to the Estate - It was Colin who brought him to the project, after all.
As always, a lot's gone on behind the scenes that us PI's will probably never know about.

the contested royalty is 3% on the MSB concessions in SLL . The other concessions JVed with Cadence came later and don't have the royalty. I think there are one or two more concessions that are owned but not included in the feasibilityy study.
Reading between the lines, with the amount of time taken trying to come to a mediated settlement, I would guess the company were willing to cut some kind of deal with the Estate - a one off payment ? Anyway, they couldn't agree , so now court will decide.
At one stage the estate had a notifiable share holding, as much as 10% i think?
There were other issues with the estate - that they didn't declare holdings correctly ? i don't remember it properly TBH
Some of the longer term holders might be able to recall better than me. @Addinkt or DallasDaz ? maybe they don't hold anymore.
The case was suppsed to have an intial hearing earlier this month but that didn't happen. I did enquire with BCN and they just said would RNS any updates.

VW will certainly prefer to have local supply chains, but if they want to produce ev's in Europe from 2023 they will be using lithium from other continents. I don't think EMH will be producing by then ?

Although they're called Britshvolt their owners are from UAE and Scandinavia. I think they have a lot of money behind them but would consider ''this month'' whether more was needed with an IPO. To build a factory in Blyth, Northumberland?
2023 for the first batteries? - we'll see - need to build the factory first !
They won't be using Cornish Lithium any time soon as they are a long way from mining, so lithium will be coming from Australia or South America for a couple of years at least; the same as it will for any VW european battery factory.
