Some clarity on the permits for the MSC fuel supply from IR

The permits are required to operate our equipment at the terminal site to be used for fuel manufacture for the MSC trials.

The permits are not currently holding the process up as the next step is to finalise trial agreements, but work is underway to expedite the permitting process in parallel with finalisation of agreements.

Based on input from our counterparties and our previous experience at Cepsa, we are confident that these permits will be awarded without issue.

So QED must have their feet firmly in the door at the bunker terminal and one can only hope this tripartite agreement is sorted before the AGM along with Morocco and Utah

MSAR still there

Once the initial MSAR® or bioMSAR™ fuel has been loaded and the on-board systems commissioned, the vessel will be bunkering and burning bioMSAR™ through the initial Proof-of-Concept testing phase, followed by the LONO trial, which is currently expected to be of 4,000-hour duration.

In addition to progressing this opportunity with MSC, the Company continues to assess strategic means and/or partnerships with the intention of accelerating the commercialisation of both bioMSAR™ and MSAR® for marine applications.

FOMO , the Lithuania trial burn was 22,000.00 tonnes of msar which was put through the plant using the same feed as they use for HFO, the Morocco trial is not using the same feed as for HFO, for some reason it’s a totally separate system, hence the kcuf ups

The ship owners will not bear the costs of these super fuels, it’s the customers that will be paying for the fuel used to ship their goods, for methanol the price is at least double the price of conventional fuels available today, so the cost to ship goods will be close to double of what they pay today.

What goes in our favour is that these ships are ready to take future fuels but will run mainly on conventional fuels, Jason really needs to get his finger out of his a r s e and get things moving for us.

None of these ships run on a single fuel, they are all duel fuel, if we ever get our fuel commercialised they will probably never see a drop of LNG. Like Maersk methanol powered ships will never see methanol

VSA Capital recently published a research note on Quadrise. Oliver O'Donnell, CFA, head of equities and research, said:

“Quadrise has developed emulsion fuel technology products which we believe have a key role to play in the global energy transition. Unlike many energy transition solutions, we see their products as minimising disruption while achieving significant environmental gains.”

There’s no change to her service, she is still on scan/ USA, the stop in Goteborg is 48 hrs this stop and next time also so I would imagine it’s a major stopover for her routing, it’s the only one with such a lengthy duration, her draught leaving Goteborg, with little or nothing to offload should be significantly more, time will tell.

Willswag you will be pleased to know that Bremerhaven will be on the swan service, which takes in the Baltics, north Europe and back to Asia, so she will be crossing paths with Leandra, may give a bit more credence to Preem being the refiner, both passing Gothenburg and Lysekil

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company flags its partnership with Quadrise in its recently released Sustainability Report, noting the use of an MSC vessel for proof-of-concept test, operational trials and potential adoption of MSAR® and bioMSAR™.

More speculation, but Jason has to be somewhere, so complete Haz/Op and sign up for fuel supply with Preem, Leandra in photo shhot, Shell would be the preferred refiner but that can come later, Cepsa got us to 48p, Preem can surely get us into double figures.

Preem is Sweden’s largest refiner with two plants in Gothenburg and Lysekil. Our refineries are among Europe’s most modern and most environmentally efficient, with emissions that are far below current environmental requirements.

Preem accounts for 80 percent of the Swedish refinery capacity and 30 percent of the Nordic refinery capacity. In total, nearly 18 million cubic meters of crude oil are refined every year at both of our wholly owned refineries Preemraff Göteborg and Preemraff Lysekil. This provides a total refining capacity of around 345,000 barrels per calendar day, which corresponds to 15 percent of Sweden’s total energy consumption. About two-thirds of the products are exported.

She’s in Goteborg for 48 hours which is a good time alongside if time was needed for anything procedural, her next visit to Goteborg is also 48 hours so that seems to be the norm, there was also the fact that Jason is missing from the conference on the 6th to 8th. But nought set in concrete for sure

I'm well aware of your research into Preem over the years, You almost got a mention in the post Vince but I didn't want to be presumptuous.

The Lysekil site is quite possibly where the Morocco fuel was made, a very good tie up whether it comes off or not

Just for interest, preem have a refinery in Goteborg, Preem and BTG Bioliquids are in partnership, QED and BTG are in partnership, the JDA between QED and BTG:-

The JDA makes provision for the Company to supply MSAR® blending technology at BTL's licensed plants or biorefineries subject to future agreements with BTL or their licensees.

Preem’s ambition to produce 5 million m3 of renewable fuel by 2030 at our refineries in Lysekil and Gothenburg, said Peter Holland, CEO of Preem.

Could this be our choice of refinery for the POC and Lono.

My bad CFP, QIL will supply, install, and commission an MSAR manufacturing unit at the refinery, which adjoins the Algeciras bunker fuel supply hub, as well as provide CEPSA with process chemicals, technical advice, and support services during the trial program,

Just a thought for longevity for the fuel supplier to have confidence going forward. I believe Cepsa stumped up a fair bit of money for the Maersk trial only to be let down half way through the trial, but I get your point, update soon I hope

Hard to say HF but the update we on the Morocco trial where a new washer had been installed on the fuel delivery system, based on that I would expect an update, hopefully attached to fuel supply.

On the fuel supply for upcoming trials, there’s a possibility that Shell would want continuity of the bio part of the fuel, with glycerine not being abundant the new joint development with BTG should go some way toward alleviating that problem

Jason did say in the recent proactive interview that Haz/Op was imminent, so it wasn't completed at that point, we hopefully get updated after the 6th to 8th July 48 hour stop in Goteborg, can only hope it's the last piece of the puzzle for fuel supply sign off.
