Utah - Following the signature of the Commercial Development Agreement with Valkor Technologies LLC ("Valkor") in April 2022, discussions are continuing with regard to the supply of a license and manufacturing unit to enable Valkor to produce MSAR® and bioMSAR™ from oil produced at their oil-sand deposit sites at Asphalt Ridge in Utah. These discussions are expected to conclude shortly. The oil sands reserves at Asphalt Ridge comprise billions of barrels, with Valkor having interests in multiple projects at this location

. Oil samples supplied by Valkor were successfully converted to both MSAR® and bioMSAR™ by our RDI team at QRF in 2022.

Leandra has a second bunker barge alongside, Sea Solidarity, Hai Soon 16 was alongside this morning just after she berthed. Wouldn’t have thought she would take on too much fuel for dry docking, the journey to Dalia is 3100 Nm, 6-7 days at 150 tonnes a day, one barge holds vastly more than that.

Agreed, but it would get the trials underway which gives time for a MMU to be set up at a refinery, announcing a partnership with a refiner or shell would be welcome and a massive confidence booster.

So it would be nice to think that the PoC volumes have been or are being manufactured. Less than a month for both 1000t volumes. The Maersk PoC fuel came from Latvia via train if I remember correctly

The arrangement for trials does not necessarily need to be the same for commercial. Could be a more ad-hoc temporary arrangement at a refuelling terminal for PoC and LONO, and then transition to a full refinery installation later.

So there was a MMU set up for the Morocco trial, that should still be available for the PoC volumes. Any clues as to whereabouts and size

I'm with you 100% that the trial should start in May, perhaps ongoing availability of the vessel can be brought up at the upcoming IMC for clarification, hoping the results aren't too vague and give clarity on where we are.

From the framework agreement

The proof-of-concept tests for each of bioMSAR™ and MSAR® will be conducted on a vessel now owned by MSC that was previously used for prior successful MSAR® demonstrations on a 69MW 2-stroke engine and commence by no later than 31 December 2022, subject to the ongoing availability of the vessel

Vessel availability would be the only foreseeable hindrance but with capacity slowing this should be easily overcome.
There was a mention when we first signed with MSC that 2 engineers that previously worked with Maersk on the POC and LONO trials would join the trial Vessel/s, not had any mention further on this since so may get something in the update.

Leandra should leave dry dock at the end of April or there abouts, if MSC are serious about our fuel then fuel supply should be announced to coincide with her departure from dry dock which will put her on her new routing, all anticipation will put her on a NW Europe route taking in Rotterdam

From the final results 2022.
Proof-of-concept ("POC") tests aboard the Leandra are planned for Q1 2023, after the vessel returns from drydock for its scheduled maintenance and regulatory class inspection. Confirmation of the vessel route and the MSAR® / bioMSAR™ bunker supply point and partner will be made in Q4 2022, with discussions underway with potential fuel supply partners.

Quite a few of the bottle necks have been removed, fuel at site in Morocco, Bio Msar and Msar have been proof tested to oblivion and back, The trial vessel is about to get its scrubber fitted, surely they can't f--k this up now, fuel supply being the only hurdle to get across for both Morocco and MSC, we've been told refiners are waiting in the wings for Leandra's route to be determined.
