Very nice listen.I have been here for a couple of years but been busy elsewhere so was aware of some of news but great for CF to put it into context.

However the KPMG comment even though it is in contingency bit can only be taken as reinforcement of GOGC position.
We may not like it and yes they can get things wrong but in the absence of the Vaccuum created by ZM in not communicating with SH we have to go by at best “ official comments”.
Yes we can always interpret things in our own favour and no one should gloat but we have to be realistic as well

The potential difficulty of getting patients for any Covid 19 trials if community infection levels drop down should not be underestimated and another reason for SCLP to progress the initial progress into the clinic as quickly as possible.
With Covid 19 it seems to mainly be about getting a safe and effective Vax as quickly as possible but really look forward to more news as there have been plenty of press articles raising the noise level here.

Bermuda has made my point.It was CEO of AZN who quoted the couple of quid figure but said they would look not to make anything on the Vaccine to supply it gloablly

Yep as admitted if community infection rate in U.K. is not sufficient to provide enough challenge they will have to rely on results elsewhere like Brazil where they are doing trials plus planned in Russia and US

Pascal Soriott just been interviewed on BBC re Oxford Vax.
Quite confident Vax will work.
100m doses ordered by U.K. govt,starting Seotbif it proves safe and effective.
Big issue is lack of Covid 19 infection in community to trial Vax.
So doing additional trials in Brazil,Russia,US
Global production to ensure everyone benefits- will likely charge £2 or so a shot so non profit making.

Under normal circumstances the Vax devt would probably be put on hold and other pre clinical trials done.
In this situation with speed of the essence it will be the early clinical results that determine the prospects of advancement not pre clinical

Agree that I can understand the GG doubting the ability of FRR to extract the stuff and actually produce.

However the article refers to discovery of the oil and gas and don't think either party disputes there are big deposits of both

Cobra is one of the chosen Vax sites to scale up production originally as part Oxford initiative along with OXB and 1 other in Surrey I recall.
I looked at them as investment opportunities but only OXB was nit a private Company.
Think Cobra is linked with Keele Univ.

As you say Bermuda my understanding is you can give multiple doses of ChAd as it does not replicate in humans.The fact they may change the Vector as part of the protocol does not mean they have to change it just trying a different combination to generate evidence to assess the nest way forward.
Having had a lot of contact with Nottingham University Vet School including knowledge of their attitude towards viral vaccination I know their prime driver is evidence based medicine and this is a major part of Jonathan Balls approach.

Lot of work on development of HIV Vax was using Canarypox and Adenovirus vectors as they both are safe to use in mammals.
They trick was to get it into humans without getting to revert to virulence.They managed to do that with Vector but not the antigenic virus ie the HIV without that mutating/ reverting to virulence say using a live or modified live vaccine or even as it turns out a killed or attenuated antigen did not produce the necessary immune response.
It is the Canary Pox Vector that I have been involved with for over 10 years hence gave a basic understanding of the process

Presume as well they are using ChAd as a vector as it naturally dissipates within humans so does not replicate and simulates a natural infection.
