Can't see any reason for a rise when the transport ship sets off to collect the rig. Unless the market was in any way doubtful that this would happen. I can't see there was/is any doubt? Everyone is aware it's going to happen and has had ample time to buy in. Nobody is waiting on rig news prior to buying. All I hear from these constant posts and tweets predicting a rise any minute - is a collection of people who are all slightly nervous as they are over exposed and desperately need a pre drill rise so that they can slice / derisk. PS: The sp is irrelevant (as I mentioned before). The mcap (which is relevant) is very very far above all time lows. In fact, it's very close to the all time high!
You're bound to mention the cash in bank - but unfortunatley much of that is generously being offerered as an interest free loan to our partner - ONLY REPAYABLE IF WE HIT COMMERCIAL OIL ... OUCH!

We agree the drill is over 95% certain to happen.
So ask yourself a) why are people selling now b) what is going to cause the sp to rise by the huge % you suggest c) why isn't every everyone putting their house on this - if it's basically guaranteed free money....

When hundreds of pis are banging on about an absolute cert on aim - it's usually a sign to steer clear.

"9p on spud of a multistacked target?" - the share price is completely arbitary, it's the mcap you need to look at.
A company with an sp of sub 1p could be worth 10s of billions.

It would be reasonable to expect an mcap in line with the drill risk & potential reward.
However, in this case, there is the recent 150% placement, which is uniquely high so close to a drill.
And the fact that so many holders have averaged down after the mess of the last year - many of who do not intend to keep all their shares until the end of the drill. (like your good self).
My position is that there is a significant chance these sellers and the remaining placement flippers will outweigh the buying interest and the sp will be lower than it is now.
As the drill continues, if the sp is holding or dropping during the drill then this will force more and more to sell and de-risk and further add to the bear pressure.
All I'm saying is that the circumstances MAY cause this and hence I won't be buying simply to trade a potential pre drill rise.
I will however buy in for the drill end as I think it's a decent & interesting drill and a worthwhile gamble.

In answer to your question, I do buy and sell shares.
Currently my only holding is in MTFB. (I have over £100k invested there as the risk v reward is better than anything I've ever seen on AIM).

You are not alone planning to top slice like that. 100s or possibly 1000s of investors are planning the same. And of course there will still be some placement overhang to go. Hence my view that it might not work out as expected. Hope you are in profit at that stage and not in loss like today, or worse.

The drill will happen. They're fully funded, even this lot can't screw that up.
You and so many others are banking on a rise pre/during drill - using language that says 100% this will happen.

RSI says overbought, tonnes of pi have soaked up the placement chunk and are now over exposed, plenty of placement shares still to go... nothing is guarenteed on aim, especially not this 'guaranteed' rise, just hope you are not expecting to slice some during the drill (like the 100s of others) as the sp may well not do what you expect here.

Looks like the MMs are aware that many pi are over-exposed (based on them believing the ramping about a 'guaranteed' rise) and that there is still a serious overhang to go from the placement.
The last few trades yesterday and the selling today is very revealing. MMs are not keen for shares, so anyone wanting/needing to sell is having to accept below the bid price.

I think you missed my point. Clearly there are thousands of small investors who have bought the shares that the placees are dumping and who are taking are taking a gamble on this oil drill. If every one of them came on here and posted details of their trade that would make the forum unreadable. Best of luck with your buy. If they hit commercially viable oil then you may well get your target. IG

Hi bladder man. Even with the hash the bod have made over the last year, I still believe the drill itself is a decent gamble and I will probably buy in. I suspect we will not see the pre drill rise that so many have been promised both on here and ****ter, and hence my post around the potential shock for anyone who bought into the ramping and are awaiting the 'guaranteed' rig / spud rise. So much hot money in here. So many pi who've bought into the ramping hype that this will rise pre / at spud. Much of this ramping is there to create a market for those wanting to flog the vast amount of placement shares. All the hot money and over exposed investors are expecting to reduce exposure before the drill end - and not gamble on the flip of a coin. Just imagine if the rise doesnt happen .. chart is ugly ... rsi is over bought ... lots of shares going to hit the marker ... nothing is guaranteed in aim. IG

Interesting the restrained way they are buying. And that other significant iis are chosing to stay below radar. Still accumulating for now. When they all decide it's time, it will only take a small fraction of their investment to launch this. IG

Looks like sand Grove are up to about 12%. Happily accumulating while it's quiet. Very nice. IG

I have been 'dissing' (are you 8?) a company who have actively misled investors... I have been almost spot on with my analysis and yet - as it is a negative, and you are long, and the sp has fallen - your knee jerk reaction is to attack me. Grow up. IG Ps. Filtered.
