Fully agree meoryou….. I noticed recently that the underlying background pattern to BP was becoming soundly cyclical, and a quick look at the past few years will confirm this - just judge your dive-in timing and you can enjoy surfing just like the Big Boys.

GoM was salvaged to a great extend by Bob Dudley bringing an Americanization slant to the company and (in my opinion) limiting the punitive damages which were vectored by Congress onto BP, but of course the debt must be settled.
So the newboy is facing several challenges:
A) Reduce the debt. he inherited from GoM.
B) Reduce the shares in circulation via buybacks.
C) Salvage the Rosnyeft loss.
D) Be seen to Invest in Go Green.
E) Lobby for a minimal Windfall levvie (Rich Rishi will probably announce the severity of it today).
F) Return dividends to where they were in the Blue Chip Golden days of old.
G) The SP will take care of itself - depending on outcomes of A)->F) and the post RasPutin PoO.

….. so all in all BL has a formidable list of tasks ahead. (hhhhmmm maybe he should have held back on his recent silly salary which thrust him into the limelight at the wrong time for the wrong reason). AIMHO.

Hold a special meeting of NATO tomorrow, agree to elect Ukrain to immediate/honorary membership status, throw in EU membership for good measure.

India abstained from yesterday’s UN vote on Putin’s actions (I refuse to call him «president» and wish that all news agencies drop the unworthy title also).

Shouldn’t think RasPutin will allow BP to capitalize on their share of his Rosnyeft - he will just rearrange it among his oligarchy (with a big slice for himself). I don’t think he will pay any notice of any LSE protestations.
