Events stacking up and something is in the air I feel:
A new CPR (after so many years without an update), Jaap moving out, American influence in the area increasing, Tentative agreement Erbil>Taking all into consideration, Maybe - Just Maybe we are being looked over as a potential buyout or merger candidate ?
Could be an interesting year for GKP - I’m hanging on in until it pans out.

In his eyes, he only committed one crime - he got caught.

KRG will NEVER agree to ICG handling all payments for one simple reason - it would remove the facility to pilfer.
Its as simple as that, and we are caught in the middle - supplying oil and increasing/maintaining production as best we can to a regime whose rulers are creaming off our income stream.

What is the current excuse for non-payments ?
What are our invisible and dumbstruck BoD doing about it ?

Since the days of Lord Browne - the markets have been wary of all happenings around BP …… things are no different these days (perhaps if /when Zahawi takes over Bernard’s job - sp will be more predictable and logical) ?

Aren’t all deals in this region corrupt ? …… they only graduate to being illegal if you get found out.

Wasn’t The Great Man appointed as Minister of Health soon after as a consolation prize soon afterwards by a grateful PM ?
There was also unearthed one of his “errors” when he mistakingly charged his riding stables electricty bill to his MP’s living allowance ? a minor omission of course, but one wonders what else he has been up to ??.

Zahawi is a champion of making millions for doing nothing - but this investigation may have scuppered his goal of becoming PM of England ?
Wasn’t he a sleeping director of GKP and collected millions for doing nothing ?
How has he managed to fool most of the people all of the time - but maybe he has cooked his goose this time.
I have every confidence that he will wriggle free and go on to greater things.
Has anyone dug into the sources of his millions which he has acquired with no visible effort ?
A seat in the House of Lords and a suitable title from the King of England as thanks for his years of tireless efforts on behalf of enriching himself will surely be the consolation prize he richly deserves.

How could we subcontract the entire management of GKP to the HKN management team ?

All that cash at bank and we get toytown divies.
We need to review what the BoD has voted to now award themselves for their stellar management of this little company (the spare, sleeping, undeployed lump of cash maybe could be better spent on growing the business , or marketting it to a more proactive operator ??).

Wondering if the KRG will be charging US interest on THEIR late payments ?
Wouldn’t be surprised if our multi-millionaire chairman his mates on the BoD are so de-coupled from their duties that they would probably pay it !

GENEL will be wasting their time and shareholders’ money in taking these rulers to court - they are above the law, they ARE the law.
Be thankful for any crumbs from their table in the form of irregular payments.

anyone did an updated calc on what this may be worth currently:
debt, reservoir recoverable, license longevity, production facilities condition and expansion, export pipeline, rullers’s cut expectations…… so that this albatross can be put out for sale ?

Historically buybacks never give a tangible benefit to stakeholders - don’t know why, can someone explain please ?

sale of production rights:
If agreement on the carve-up of Iraq’s hydrocarbons between regions and central AND acceptable brown envelope contents to local warlords are established - what else would block the sale of those companies holding production licenses ?

Missing of the 100kbbls/d.
Failure in achieving even 50% of Company targets from yesteryears projections beg to be clarified.
May I offer a basket of choices: faulty interpretation of geology, over enthusiasm, buttoning down of further expansions by the rulers, unforseen technical constraints, lack of investment, C19, the wrong type of snow…….. whatever.
Someone around GKP has inherited the obligation to explain this failure, and to offer an updated, coherent and more attainable recovery strategy.

Just achieved obscene (but nice to have) profits this Q, oil up, buybacks thunder ahead…… and our SP is in Lead Zeppelin mode.
