RE: ISA Day6 Apr 2023 09:57
I think we all knew that the rulers of Kurdistan were bleeding off the oil and its revenues, claiming dubious excuses for reduced prices, short and missing monthly payments, financing to defend the oil installations against terrorists, feeding refugees, innoculating the population, and many other opportunistic excuses by any and various means.
This defrauded both the population and the oil companies over many years.
These ‘elected’ criminals were abusing their power - but have obviously become rich beyond their wildest dreams.
Will there be a full investigation, return of these stolen riches to those who were exploited, and jail sentences handed down to those found to be guilty (or will the pots find it unneasy to be calling the kettles black in this corrupt and blameless region)?
A final point would be: did the management of the oil companies know exactly what was going on and turned a blind ear to it - while benefitting from excellent salaries and hideous bonuses working tirelessly to the benefit of their shareholders ?
