Sorry to contradict you but I think you don’t really understand or appreciate the primary/original purpose of a stockmarket. It is to help firms raise funds. It may seem a kind of casino to many, but that is most definitely a by-product of the primary purpose.
Given this, why are some ‘investors’ angry when their co raises cash? Because they are not investors but players at the green baize. So, rather than be angry at their target ‘bet’ (for carrying out its primary task), perhaps they should simply be annoyed with themselves for choosing that particular way to gamble.
The above said, I do find it annoying that most listed firms shareholders vote away their own pre-emptive rights. That is something to be angry about. I am hoping to pick up some in this placing btw.

if you think the placing price is overly discounted, why don't you contact the broker and get involved?
it's either cheap or it's not. If it is, as you are suggesting, then the solution seems to be 'take part'. But hurry up, it'll all be over by tea-time (unlike the cricket).

Nothing to dislike here, strategically. MVR gets access to proven subscription base and world-famous brand, and Napster gets a viable VR product.
I think this will come back from suspension at a big premium. Could prove to be a lovely xmas pressie for all of us.

I was approached by one of the brokers assisting in the placing.

You just need to find yourself a couple of ‘private client’ brokers and sign up. They are expensive (dealing cost-wise) but come with perks such as this.

I’ve just taken part in the placing. Assuming it goes ahead (can’t see any reason it won’t), I’ll be in for the long run, as with most of my holdings.
This isn’t without risk, and there will likely be more cash calls in future years but, essentially, I feel this is a deeply undervalued ‘private equity’ play now. What’s not to like?

I’m with BarnetPeter on this SP’a short-term direction; the placing figures suggest a £ pricing of £1.75 as a floor; but my gut feeling is 10p-15p above that, so £1.85 to £1.90 will see support. I’m hoping to pick up some more sub-£2 as am a LTH. But it has had a spectacular run in a short time and that always screams out ‘consolidation’.

Sorry to p155 on your parade but a vaccine simply won’t be made mandatory for lots of reason, not least of which is civil liberties.
I for one, won’t be taking a COVID-19 vaccine any time soon; I caught the virus right at the start of this sorry saga and, I’d happily catch it again to build up my own natural immunities than have some politic-jock-strap tell me what needs to go into my body. There’ll be riots on the streets before a vaccine is made ‘mandatory’ - I know this because I’ll be organising one.
Sorry bud, but people like you who tell others what they should and shouldn’t do in matters of their own body really boil my p155.

I’ve flipped my placing stock today (well, enough to leave me a small free ride. Sold at 4.4p.
I won’t be looking back here anytime soon as BIDS has lost my interest, somewhat. Something to do with not be able to “show me the money”. I’ll come back if and when Dramper ever does.
Oh, and to that troll/BIDS minion ‘Cred-bare-foe’, it was 460,165 around 12:49.
Or am I lying? ****.

Hi all.
This is annoying. I truly believe one of the key problems with current-day stock markets is the now ubiquitous approach to fund-raising of side-stepping current shareholders by exercising ‘non pre-emptive rights’ resolutions . The argument for this approach hinges on the fact that shareholders have passed these resolutions. However that voting is predominantly carried by institutional and major shareholders, who all get on the A list of those to call when fundraising takes place. The rest of us don’t get a look-in.
This is simply not healthy (from a ‘trust’ basis) and unfair. It’s one of my personal campaigns to persuade as many PIs as possible to ALWAYS vote against resolutions that drop pre-emptive rights.
So, I’ll have to pick up my 6% of shares at prevailing rates rather than ‘mate’s rates’.
Quite annoying.

You haven’t responded about that cup of tea? I could simply pop my head thru the door of the BIDS marketing team’s room to get you and we could go off for that cuppa.

Re the failure to announce the % result. It’s effect on me was to reduce down what I invested via the placing by half.

But you now seem to consider yourself BIDS resident expert poster here (probably true, given you work for them); why do you think BIDS refused to publish the resolution votes percentages? It is normal practice to do so, after all.

You are a funny one. Maybe we can meet up at the AGM (assuming shareholders are ever allowed back in) and discuss things over a nice cup of tea.
That’s only a year away. Just enough cash in the tank to see thru to that without another placing.
By the way, if you are miffed on missing out on the placing, you need to find yourself a decent traditional broker. Cheap Online ones won’t cut it.

Hi all.
So, today will see NVCT placed in the stockmarket’s voting machine. Our ‘votes’ cast will decide the closing sp.

However, never forget that it’s a weighing machine over the long term. Today’s closing SP is a side show. The real game is what will the SP be in a year?

Given that nearly 1/3 of the revs were generated in June, (and that global cases increases 69% in the last 30 days) it is crystal clear to me that COVID is going to be around for many months to come, and NVCT will continue sales at £25m pcm for some time to come.

So the main event is not today’s closing SP, but what will the SP be in 12 months.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it will be at least double the current level. I’ll take 100% annual growth all day long.
Remember, the real game is the long game. Buy and store is always the most profitable route.

For me, the elephant in the room was the needed fund-raising.
But I accept that it was a much bigger, stinkier animal because of the lack of revs.

I always said I’d turn bullish once the elephant was removed; and I took on some in the placement.
Just a matter of patience now; and the SP not getting ahead of itself.
I’d prefer steady uptrend to s as nothing else, as per my previous prediction......... but I’ll accept rocket-powered and never coming down; it’s just the latter promotes nervousness and fickle investors, in my experience.
