Nottingham Trent University and the University of Portsmouth have initiated a new preclinical study aimed at developing a vaccine for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)
Trent have also done a lot of work on the Pap protein for prostate cancer
The work focused on the prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) protein, which is present in more than 90% of prostate tumours. Scientists were able to develop a new prostate cancer vaccination strategy utilising a portion, or 'epitope' of this PAP protein - PAP 114 - which was capable of preventing and reducing tumour growth in pre-clinical trials.
That Group alone would keep a Big Pharma busy
Moditope ....
Not sure how to describe it now, as so many components of it are starting to appear as interactive and indeed as a whole package treatment for late stage. How this all comes together is part of this Modi 3 Grand Challenge program of forming templates around patients own tumours which allows sequenced treatments and combinations for max effect. So the pipeline has moved to "Cancer" think about that eh !
