Does anyone know any reason for the recent fall?

Usual story. London can't value growth companies properly. It's why they get sold on the cheap to US private equity.

It was mentioned but they said that they are still under NDA and couldn't go into detail.

Buying at 499.65 and selling at 502 is effectively a loss when you take stamp duty into account.

Shareholders have been getting rinsed for years here - myself included. The current board have no credibility left. How much money has left the company to friends and family while reporting losses. My guess is that today's allegations are the thin end of the wedge.

Grezz. How does it look over a 5 or 10 year period opposed to a single day? Just asking.

Aquarian. If QCM were so sure of their facts why did they close their short position so quickly. It was blatant attempt at market manipulation which failed.

A 10% fall in the crowdstrike share price for taking down half the planet. Darktrace used to fall more than that on days when Shadowfall posted fabricated nonsense. Shows you how much the Darktrace share price was manipulated.

We are actually at a point where the takeover is actually suppressing the share price. If the bid was to get blocked for any reason I would fully expect the share price to rise above the current level. The board have fleeced us to line their own pockets. What reason is there to invest in tech in the UK? Constant short attacks based on lies to drive the share price down for US private equity to buy on the cheap. London is stuffed if it doesn't do something to stop this happening over and over again.

Sheltie. I appreciate you did well out of RR but equally Darktrace went up 175% from the point you sold at in just over a year. I assume that Darktrace was not your only holding. In which case you it was likely sold the wrong stock to buy Darktrace as it is unlikely that the rest of your portfolio all went up that percentage in the same time frame . If you didn't error and indeed you sold your only holding(Darktrace) to invest it all in RR then I would seriously recommend that you diversify you portfolio before you pick the wrong stock and end up with nothing. For the record I have done well out of Darktrace . I was firmly against the takeover as I believe it severely undervalues the potential of the company but what's done is done. The majority of my holding was sold above £6 when the takeover was announced . I would have bought back in on the dip had the the bid fallen through. In my opinion the board have done the shareholders a disservice selling at this price however they will be well looked after by Thoma Bravo. A perfect example of the board turning shareholders over to feather their own nest is how I view it. The ultimate moment of truth will be when Thoma Bravo relist on the Nasdaq. My belief is that the takeover price will look pityful when then happens. Good luck with your investments. I am off to look for the next RR. If you spot it let me know please.

Oldfortyniner. I think it is wrong to assume you need a bid to make money. I bought computacenter in 2007 when the share price collapsed to 70 pence. A lot of nonsense was being talked by the usual London analysts who don't understand tech. Had a bid of £1.40 come in I would have doubled my money straight away. Thankfully that never happened and I still hold today. The current share price is £29.62. Sometimes companies just need to be left to grow and not be sold on the cheap just because the market doesn't get them. Again just a personal viewpoint but until London is able to take a longer term viewpoint every tech company listed will be vulnerable to predators who will buy well below true value.

Got to disagree with you. I would have happily held Darktrace shares for 10 years as the short term share price was merely a false distraction. One of the primary reasons for the share price being so low was due to constant attacks from short sellers coming out with accusations which were ultimately untrue along with assistance from their placemen in the press. . The share price was manipulated way below what Darktrace is worth . That's why I will never invest in a tech company on the FTSE ever again really. A really poor deal for shareholders in a company operating in a key growth sector where cyber attacks are being reported on a daily basis. On every metric Darktrace traded on a ridiculous discount compared to it's US peers. The board have accepted this offer as they will be well looked after by Thoma Bravo. Poppy has done the shareholders over to feather her own nest. That's my personal opinion from a long term shareholder who has made money from owning Darktrace shares. Thoma Bravo have got themselves a steal and yet another UK tech company exits the FTSE. Let's see what Darktrace for in a few years time on the Nasdaq.

Health records compromised and being published online. MOD payroll hacked. Border patrol system down. Remember when the shorters were telling us that the cyber security market was being overstated. Thoma Bravo must be rubbing their hands. The price they are paying for Darktrace will turn out to be an absolute bargain.

Sheltie, You clearly never particularly liked Darktrace as an investment. You are on here like telling everyone that no other bid will come in. That may or may not be true however I have to say that you have been wrong before. Like when you were telling everyone that Darktrace was a screaming sell in in January 2023. The share price back then was 2.39. Anyone who took your advice and sold would have missed out a 150% rise in the share price. As for Darktrace not making enough profit. It took a decade before Amazon turned a profit. Plenty of other similar examples.

I definitely think there will be a few interested parties. Darktrace would be a good fit for a number of US tech firms. It is just a case of waiting to see if any of them make a move.
