Jelly, SundaGas are the operator for the licence and are committed to drilling Chuditch 2 by the end of 2024. They are a fully owned subsidiary of Baron.

Also, the drill is for appraisal not production so hopefully it makes it attractive enough for another operator to step in and make us all very happy!

I quite like HFB's suggestion that the MOU and the 15% share is to allow TG to bring drilling partner onboard. It would be mutually beneficial if it were to come true!

I'm still loving the level of news that's flowing after so many years of virtually nothing!

I am torn between the 2 views expressed.

Part of me thinks that news lands from the TL government that finally identifies the path to extraction. If a bigger kid comes along and wants to buy our sweets, let's do a deal. The problem for me is how much will they be willing to risk prior to us drilling and proving the asset (fully accepting Shell drilled it many years ago).

That makes me think let's accept the cost of drilling with a view to proving the massive resource once and for all, thus significantly increasing the value of Chuditch. But what if something isn't right? We'll have spent time and money drilling Chuditch 2 shooting ourselves in the foot in the process.

First things first, we need some positive news to come out of TL and then we can worry about the rest. GLA

That's if it gets that far. If the TL government make progress on their proposed facilities or concede that the gas can be processed via FLNG/Darwin, we may well not need to drill.

If that doesn't happen this helps towards the cost of our drill and demonstrates TL interest in getting Chuditch moving.
