The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Happy New Year folks. Let's hope that we are all rich in 2024. As I've said a few times, the nature and amount of news in the last few months has been more positive than ever, in my time here.
Take care and good luck all.
INPEX, ENI, Woodside-Santos Merger, China, Brunei, UAE.
It seems TL has gone from very little interest (just look at the last licence round) to an abundance of it. The news today has not yet had the impact many of us would have hoped for but it is yet another step in the right direction.
The TL government will hopefully continue to meet with potential investors but I am extremely positive about this project coming good. I've always hoped it would, I now believe it will.
GLA
This is by far the biggest vote of confidence in Chuditch that the TL Government had shown in my time here.
I've been saying for weeks now that Woodside have been trying to railroad TL into Darwin. This is 2 fingers to them.
It'll be very interesting to see what today brings. Let's hope it's well received.
GLA.
Filthy, when you put it like that, I may well sell my shares on Monday morning!
Mike, the risks are as Filthy describes. This is by no means a given success but in the years I've been involved we never heard as much positive noise from the company but mainly from other parties involved at one level or another.
Things are starting to move so, if you decide to get involved, now is a good time.
Jelly, today wasn't a false dawn. The share price reacted according to the ENI news. 20% up at one point and day traders took their profit. Finishing 12.5% up is about right.
The fact is the news is starting to flow. Days like today are exciting. There are more exciting days ahead.
Jed, the previous handful of rallies like this have been out of the blue and without any underlying reason. At least this time there are encouraging noises from a number of angles. I live in hope and am holding on tight to my shares! This will do 1000% in day at some point, just a case of when!
There was a largely unsuccessful licence round a couple of years ago but one of the stand out acquisitions was ENI getting the block next door to us. This is first real mention of it that I've seen since but on the back of the other snippets that have come out recently, things are beginning to move.
Get those fingers and toes crossed folks!
This is potentially very significant. Right next door so ENI, long considered likely JV partner or possibly a takeover option are finally getting a mention.
Come on TL give someone the green light! You are starting to make the right sounds!
It's a cynical point of view but I guess whilst they can suggest Woodside are causing the delays, I can see some of that. Although, they would surely benefit massively from a political and financial standpoint if this goes ahead.
TL are clearly not in so much of a rush as to abandon their plans for their own O&G Industry/jobs and give in to Woodside's wish to take the gas to Darwin. That is a good thing for us because pressing ahead with that would reduce the priority of developing Chuditch.
GLA
Woodside have no intention of getting GS developed unless the gas goes to Darwin, in my opinion.
They already know that so is another year long feasibility study really necessary? There's a great opportunity for us if we play it right
Watcher, fur done reason you are not on filler so before you go back, a couple of things.
You say 'estimated' but from whom do you claim this estimate is from? Also why is the estimate so broad? 14-30m?
Then, given the AstraZeneca vaccine was linked to a tiny number of cases of blood clots so has been removed from circulation (99% due to perception) yet the others are killing number greater than the population of many countries and yet only you and others like you know?
And why are you talking about it on a KOD forum? Why not on CNN or even on Twitter?
Finally, if you add water to a container does the level of water in the container go up, down or remain the same?
Thanks.
An alternative version of the story Jarv posted but without the paywall. In my view this is worth waiting for.

FlipFlop, read some of Passiton's posts, if you haven't already.
We are obligated to drill next year (or extend again) but BOIL don't want to be doing that. We want the current impasse between TL and Woodside to be resolved so that there is an option to get the gas to market and someone will swoop in with an offer we can't refuse. That's why I'm here (and many others). 10% this way or that means nothing!
TL want to use their gas assets to create jobs for TL people and quite right too. Woodside, in my opinion, are playing brinkmanship, knowing that Bayu Undan is end of life and are trying to force TL to go to Darwin. TL have responded through talks with several nations, most notably China and that surely, will make Woodside sit up and take notice.
There has been more movement in the right direction in the last 6 months than in my 4 or so years involved in BOIL.
Just sit tight and ignore the day to day movements.
GLA and DYOR blah, blah, blah!
