That would be un-Guardian like! You have to ask yourself why Australia are now reported to be making progress in talks over Sunrise! The threat of TL walking away (to whatever extent they can) seems to have woken them up!
Were they tryng to strong arm TL into what they wanted or trying to run the clock down on TL's O&G fund with the hope of getting a better deal out them?
Let's hope BOIL gets what we want from this and the people of TL get some benefit.
Things are finally starting to move in the right direction after what seems like an enternity of drifting! Great find Filthy (and Kylie who posted in another thread).
Let's hope this momentum is maintained. GLA VLTH!
The RNS is a regulated statement and must reference the ongoing optimisation. Madderson can say what he likes on Twitter. The RNS is therefore slightly pessimistic in it's feel whereas he's perhaps overly optimistic in the Tweet. Time will tell!
The Aussies have no right to feel aggrieved about TL/China links. They've have had every opportunity to get in there first but instead spied on TL government officials and have dragged their feet for years.
They need to get things moving or step aside.

Tygra, how you doing? Did you escape ANGS unscathed? It's very nearly crunch time here so at least there isn't long to wait.
Could be a quick double whammy with KOD getting the funding over the line last week.
Good luck all.
Clueless, (and I was thinking the exact thing James said) if that's what you feel you should do, why don't you just quietly get on with it? Instead you are airing it on here in the most negative terms possible.
Just put your phone down and enjoy the day!
Well done all holders. Yesterday was the beginning of the next phase of a great project. Good luck.
It could be there are other more pressing events happening around the World that mean they wouldn't get the level of attendence to make it worth while. I hope this is a result of negotiations behind the scenes but I suspect the focus on Ukraine and Gaza may be the reason.
Needing oil and gas for longer isn't necessarily in our favour though, jarv! We need the threat of it becoming useless soon to force TL to get their skates on! Us drilling will be a bonus but the real benefit is a decision on what the island is going to do with the gas! Wouldn't it be a bit galling to discover we do indeed have $bns of gas but no permission to get it out from under the seabed?
Herbert, I couldn't agree more with your original post. I was gutted when I sold up at 1.1p as I genuinely thought this would take off following the sidetrack success (obviously glad I got out now!). I intended to stick around and contribute to the board but it has become SO toxic now that I rarely check in these days.
It's always been a bit feisty because of the some of the characters but it was a bit of fun and there was some interesting contributions to balance it out. That has largely gone from what I can see nowadays. Obviously the damp squib that followed the sidetrack has added massively to the depth of ill feeling but it's become almost unreadable!
Anyhow, good luck to you all and I may be back at some point. Take care.
