Depends if the market focuses on cases or hospitlisations and deaths. Hospitlizations are only trickling up very slowly in France and Spain despite a huge increase in cases indicating there will be nowhere near the same lag of deaths following cases we saw before, I imagine this will also happen in UK. So depends how closely the market looks into covid beyond the headlines.

This is another video by the guy also interesting, the main thing being that all the countries hit badly by covid had lower excess deaths in the year before Feb/March due to less bad flu seasons, this was the case in - UK, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden and USA.
Whereas places which did not suffer badly with covid - Finland, Germany, Estonia, Hungary, Luxembroug, Lithuania, Norway and Portugal all had higher excess deaths in the year before Feb/March.
So basically the first group had more frail people coming into this spring than the latter group.

NY and Cali will be good for Tenet numbers as previous Nolan films did extra well there. Only problem is that's what giving the headache with the release dates, most countries/states will be ready for another film whereas Cali and NY might have 2 big films at once if opening by the end of this month. Hopefully they could work something out.

Learning trader I'm afraid I have to hope no-one like you is ever in power if you want to make masks permanent! No problem with people wearing them and can just about tolerate being ordered to wear one now, but once covid is over if they were still making such orders I would think and hope most people would simply say no.

Hi Jim, I think the issue is the fact that the average age of covid death is 82, which is the same as life expectancy virtually. Therefore what people question is why we are acting this way for something that is perhaps 1.5 times as bad as the flu, I've seen some scientists revise down covid death to case ratio to 0.2-0.3%, flu is 0.1-0.2%. So I think it's fair enough to ask questions of the government, however I agree it is a bit ridic when you see someone with a mask under their chin. I'm not totally convinced on masks however people myswel be wearing them properly.

I agree Moola, only thing that is irritating for cine is NY and California. However Calis cases are dropping quite fast so more cinemas will be freed up on Tues I imagine aswell as capacity limits increased in ones already open. I hope this puts some pressure on Cuomo because his silence on movie theatres is one of the downward pressures on the sp imo.

Good post the investigator, might sound like mindless optimism but I still can't see how cines results could be worse than AMCs, when going into the covid period AMC had 32% more debt and connected to this 25% more cinemas than cine therefore one might logically assume the forced closures would have hit their income statement harder.
