Well actually I'm not 100 percent sure on that but the bbc article says households and support bubbles are exempt, and cant really see cinemas querying people as to their households...

It's gatherings of up to 6 from different households...other than sentiment it means little for cinemas coz even a group of 20 could show up and be from 4-6 differnet households and be within the rules.

I think California having laid out its rules makes it easier to work out which cinemas in which counties to get ready each week, unlike New York which is a mystery. Having said that Cuomo might just open New York all in gone go which obv would be great.

They were also literally talking about getting theatre and sports venues back with non-socially distanced audiences within weeks with the use of speedy saliva tests...so I can't see new restrictions on business, more likely it will be like in Scotland where business remain open but there were limits on going to other peoples houses.

Exactly RS, older people are now far more being cautious, and as the average age of a covid death is around 80, this itself can mean a large decrease in deaths. Aswell as ofcourse, more immunity this time around, slightly better treatments and sadly the simple fact that a lot of the most frail people have died a few months before their time back in the spring meaning there are less people currently in hospices and care homes etc or at this level of frailty.

Second wave - more like more people being tested, tested being targetted in problem areas and with track and trace and then the inevitable spreading between younger people who are probably now aware that more people have died aged over 100 than under 30.

The "second wave" is mostly in young people, just look at France, Spain and Belgium which also had second resurgances in young people and look at their deaths, hospitlisations have trickled up slightly but nowhere near the levels of when it first hit.
