I would imagine you'd gave to be that kind of guy, to even get yourself into this situation. Putin's last talk, he seemed really nervous, which is strange for him. He's like the gambler that doesn't know when to quit, always doubling down.

TBH, you always get this kind of thing on any board, or for that matter, anywhere that people communicate. People seem to love an argument.

I'm in same boat with evraz, took a punt on poly, managed to get tin at 127. For whatever reason, poly hasn't been sanctioned, and also, they're looking into a split. There's a good chance of a 500p share, in a worse case scenario for Russia. Hopefully all sanctions get removed, but who knows? I think the west want Putin gone, so until he is out, sanctions will remain. That's what I think.

The world is run by dictator's, we in the west live in a bubble, and are beneficiaries. Coffee, oil, clothes, etc etc. Only reason they're cracking down on Putin, is because his dictatorship affects the security of aforementioned bubble.

nice one, I originally bought these stocks as a play on an oil rebound, but I think I'll be holding them for a while. Management seem to be very efficient.

I'm really cynical as par as politics goes. Just finished audiobook heaven in disorder by slavoj zizek. He makes some good points, and one that struck me was the idea that politicians change a lot, so that everything can remain the same. The windfall tax is just such a thing. There will be discontent, but there has always been discontent. Trump captured, and used it in the USA. Trump, changed nothing, in spite of all his loud, vulgar, rhetoric.

Money spent going to Thailand, is money well spent IMO. I'll be going in February.

Really pleased with these results, they're even better than what BP had. Clearly the management team have been working hard to get things in order.

Fair points there ragingbull, would be nice if we can see a big slice of profit. Also, if Lizz gets in (which she should) price may move up, because she's against windfall tax.

main risk I think, is that everyone is expecting good results, so the result might be priced in. I'm holding anyway, because that has always been my strategy. I am not a trader.

gone to cry probably. Joking aside, not much to talk about really, company is frozen, and all we can do is wait it out. Hopefully we'll have something to show for it at the other end. I'm not so sure, but I think the management team at Evraz, will do a good job, in a bad situation. They seem to be competent, but of course much of this is out of their control.
