Fund managers cannot afford to be down, even for a short period, because they risk getting the sack, so they short to keep their fund in the green.

Trouble is, I can't see any leader calling for a ceasefire, at least not unless Russia agrees to pull out completely. The west need to stand firm, else they're just encouraging Putin to go for more. They could ignore other moves, but a move westward cannot be allowed, a boundary has to be set. That's what I believe the whole point of all this was about. drawing that line in the sand. Not one inch westward. I suspect there may also be other moves at play too, but they're too difficult to assess, and verge on the ground of conspiracy. I feel like Putin has made a grave error moving on Ukraine, and he's now effectively in Check mate, he cannot do anything that will allow him to exit with his reputation in tact. I wouldn't be surprised if Crimea was allowed, knowing Putin would go again, and over reach, thus allowing this strategic move by NATO, to weaken the Kremlin. Although I would say that is pure conjecture.

Well, maybe it will help with talks in India. India seem to be unhappy with Putin, and a strong relationships with India could work well for us. Putin needs to be talked down, but I don't think that's possible at this stage, he's effectively all in, and will be lucky if he can even get out if this mess alive.

I worked for sports direct delivering to their stores, doesn't surprise me that they're closing HOF stores. They're too big, a relic from the past. Much better to run stores in retail parks, with parking etc.

Brexit has been a disaster. It has benefited me as a truck driver, wages gone up etc, but they're now talking about getting Indians, and Africans to drive lorries. Which means my wages are due to crash big time, and what's even funnier about it, is that Brexit has made it possible! The EU, would not allow Indian's, and African's in to drive lorries, but now we can! Brexit benefits! It might work if we didn't have the conservatives in, they're useless, all that's on their mind is how they can syphon off cash to their tax haven!

Jotom, I didn't vote in the referendum because of various issues, and personal conflicts on the decision. At the time I was actually a member of the communist party marxist Leninist (yes, please laugh). They were pro brexit, because they claimed it would weaken western imperialism. I was also dating a Hungarian woman, so it was a difficult decision, and I decide not to vote. Now I've decide that actually we should have stayed in, and built a stronger union. I change my view a lot in my life, and view this as a strength, rather than a weakness. Around 2017, I decided that I was actually in a cult, and quit the communist party. I still consider myself to be left wing, but I'd probably opt for a Scandinavian model, or something similar, with more accountability for leaders. It's kind of funny that the pro EU camp were painted as the "loony left", and "Woke snowflakes", all the while, Communists all over the world, were hoping for it to happen.
I can only hope that we make it out of this mess, without becoming totally dysfunctional, but it would appear that dysfunction is par for the course, in these crazy times.
