In the last RNS the Tone was That the recovery of Micro Focus as a business is on track.
Sure the recent falls are painful but they are not company specific but market specific.

Correct - and I wouldn’t understand any aggro here.
Let’s face it Nanoco has potential- both product wise as well as litigation wise.
Let us all enjoy the ride here.

@strathy: Actually when I was writing my former post I was also thinking what you brought up. My thinking is that the CFO would not have bought at ca 340p level if he didn’t believe that this is a good entry price.
What I was trying to say is that this share is so cheap and already looks so dejected that management needs to come up with a stinker to drive the share price further down.
Personally my hunch is that this ship is being slowly brought around….however now that the whole market is turning south the question is whether price action upwards will really recompense us for being so loyal/patient with Micro Focus. (Loyalty towards a share buys you nothing…)

@strathy: I am used to Micro Focus share price overreacting- I am a bit dismayed by the fall on Friday but not too surprised given that this is a pattern that I have seen before.
Anyway Micro is dirt cheap at the moment so it can almost only go up from here.
22 June will be the key: If tangible progress can be seen than this will climb over 400p.
Given how the stock market is doing I will be exiting Micro if this is the case as I fear the clouds are gathering for the stock market in general.

@Sammy, According to Directors Talk Interviews posted by a well informed Paul Planet Earth on the ADVN board USD 200-300m in damages for US times a multiplier of 1.5 is more like it, so ca USD 300 to 450m for settling claims pertaining to the US.

I hope to see a base of 400p established closer to 22nd June. It seems to me that the City is parking its tanks close to the lawn but only will steamroller in if 22nd June is good.

Quite frankly the only thing that should interest Nanoco and shareholders is the size of the settlement or damages awarded by the court.
Paying a significant sum out will be more of a painful pinprick than any employee being left by Samsung to fall for what seems companywide lack of ethical compass.
Personally I feel that a share price of between GBP 1 to GBP 1.20 is where I feel a settlement might land us for past infringement.

@Hawi: Yes, BT makes a very good impression to me: considered but determined. Mintz have been very good so far and if they keep up the good work Samsung will be served up what they richly deserve.

Strathy I have averaged down with another company so in another quarter share the feeling/pain.
Hope that your portfolio is blue in other names - and who knows that Micro finally gets its act together.

Strathy - first of all my full sympathies. I stumbled upon Micro and bought in at ca 1100, bought another tranche at ca 800 and major tranches at ca 310p and ca 270p level - by that time I was thinking “well this cannot go down much from here”…
Like you (even though in profit) I have not been too impressed by the communication but even so I believe that senior management is addressing/trying to address the challenges of the business. Sometimes a not so flashy media savvy CEO is better for the actual business than someone who can work the City and PR but does not deliver.
Like you I believe that now the time has come to deliver…but investment decisions should not be taken from an impulsive reaction.
I agree that the City and many investors (including you and me) will listen carefully to what the CEO has to say because it has been some time since we heard really good news. The fact that the current share price is low and that the current CFO bought significant amount of shares at ca 340p in Dec 2021 gives me the sense that we are near the support level anyway when looking at today’s price.

Hi Strathy, All down to pot luck… even though I am in profit my patience is wearing thin…there were other stocks that I contemplated moving/allocating funds to but stuck with Micro as I expected a rather higher return…just look at the chart…it was at ca 1100p and now cannot even reach 600p even though it is an IT company….give me a break.

Micro Focus just baffles me - neither the rises nor the falls can be linked to any news or developments…
I am in profit and will stay the course but really feel this stock is beim played with.

NGR1616 is spot on. And I suggest people watch BT’s interview of early May on Edison’s webpage for first hand info.
At the bottom line this board should not get too wound up - main thing is that we have a good CEO at the helm and a good legal team.
The wise thing to do in my humble opinion is to sit back drink tea and watch this story unfold.
If it goes to plan a good junk of my mortgage will be history in autumn.

@NigWitty: Wrong approach - let Samsung approach us. After PTAB the pressure is on them not Nanoco.
The way I see it is that Samsung will find it very hard to win the court case so Nanoco can take a confident position. Once the court case goes our way Nanoco can apply even more pressure.

Yes, it is bizarre. However having thought about it here is what I think are the reasons:
1. Nanoco is a company with a small cap - so not on the radar of many institutional money managers
2. Nanoco’s story is a complicated one - whilst one major hurdle was taken what the concrete financial implications are will only become concrete at the court trial.
3. Not enough patience of some Nanoco shareholders - why are some people selling now when all will be revealed in October?
4. Maybe investors are put off by the fact that Samsung can string out having to pay Nanoco by launching various appeals - again Samsung can drag out things by two+ years
Do other folks share my thoughts?

As a Nanoco investor I have been following the excellent posts here with pleasure- let’s keep it up! So let us collectively abstain from personal attacks or swear words (even if one might be provoked) - too many other boards have been blighted by this. Thank you everyone and like many other people here I am optimistic about our chances in October.
Apart from our financial gain a victory would strike a blow for better corporate conduct by large multi nationals.

Thank you also from my side Hawi. I am also not a legal expert but reading through the transcript I have to say that at some passages Samsung lawyers were clearly floundering. I am now very optimistic that Samsung will lose this case. I topped up with ca GBP 3.2k two/three weeks ago and am glad that I did.
Again only my opinion and everyone please do his or her own research.

And so it will. To sell now means throwing in the towel. Let's face it: The year ending Oct 2021 was still a challenging year for any company.... So the ship needs another year to turn for good....so what. Collect a nice divi in the mean time and in ca 1 years time see 550-600p. So why why why bail out now?
