@Sammy88: Nanoco won’t go for USD 5…. the management has seen this company suffer for too long to even contemplate this.
Nanoco enters the trial in a strong position and this will be reflected in any settlement (if there is one) or in the trial verdict.
Quite frankly wilful infringement is the only feasible outcome- the smoking gun email, the several years of collaboration…how can Samsung make a jury believe that they didn’t infringe Nanoco patents?
Even very good lawyers cannot make a circle appear as a square.

@FlyingHigher: I am really puzzled by your post. If Nanoco wins this trial and is awarded damages of say GBP 300m to GBP 600m which might well happen if infringement is recognised and fined as such the share price will rocket.

Dear fellow Nanoco investors,
I think nerves are getting a bit frayed here and what used to be a good natured board is getting tense.
Look everyone please relax as shortly (ca 3 weeks) all will be revealed.
Chances are good that for once justice will be done to Nanoco- and its investors and at the bottom line this is all we need and should care about.

I actually agree with Sammy88’s latest post.

In a way the whole debate here is a bit futile - anyway we will soon find out either way.

The only thing that can be said for certain is that Samsung acted abominably in their business dealings with N and afterwards missed several chances to find an amicable solution to the whole saga.

If they fall flat on their face in a trial justice will be served.

@Bagpuss: Turcan also sold one or two days before the PTAB verdict came out so I really wouldn’t read anything into this sell.

@Screenlearner: I think what you are writing is eminently sensible. I guess a lot how the share price will behave will be due to communication. First of all the communication from the court/company and also the financial press. If one has headlines like “Nanoco wins 1bn award” than I expect the share price to shoot up like a rocket for one or two days as all kinds of people will jump on…
I guess the sensible thing is to set oneself certain price targets for and than sell in tranches or retain a tranche…ie if one has a price target of say 80p or 90p sell one tranche and retain others…if the share price continues to rocket up to say 110 or 120p sell another tranche…
One will never get timing completely right but this way one will avoid selling too cheaply or being too greedy.
The only thing one should not do is sell out of Nanoco completely: If the licensing deal with S is a decent one this will set a very nice floor for the share price for the future and one can in the meantime see when/if the commercialisation happens…still intrigued by the fact that BT sees this as the main prize in town whereas the current litigation is for him only the cherry.

@NigWitty: Thank you for your reply and for what it is worth I also independently of your answer was thinking that the share price should land in the 80-100p range.

@NigWitty: I am with you but here my question to you: If N wins the trial what share price do you envisage? I understand that what you might want to tell is your personal opinion and everyone should do his/her own research.

@Sammy88: I totally agree with what you wrote!

I agree but no one wants to take over a company saddled with a significant amount of debt- especially as we are heading into choppy waters for many economies.

@Hawi: Personally I am holding out for the trial because a) it is with us shortly and b) N enters the trial with a very strong hand.
However, I could understand if some people take say 25% of their chips off the table… but personally I let them all remain on the table.

@amerloque: I couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately I believe a factor of times 3 will lead to a S appeal but what S did was outrageous and needs to be punished severely.
I also do hope that the press will cover this story widely in September.

Hi Nanonano, I have reread your post and now get it what your intended statement was. So we are on the same page.
I personally think that this board is high quality and enjoyed reading yesterday’s contributions.
I hope that S is being landed with a hefty penalty as IP theft and especially done in a calculated manner against a small company is deeply reprehensible.
It almost makes you walk to a shop and stage a protest next to Samsung TVs.

Small correction: I had meant to say “definitely not the 10%..” in my previous post.
@Screenlearner: I actually think that the picture will soon be relatively clear as I expect BT to give an Interview/Presentation to Nanoco investors shortly afterwards. BT strikes me as a man who wants to do right by his investors and unless there are confidentiality clauses he will try to be as transparent as possible.
Right now I understand that the less S knows about the litigation funding arrangements the better!

@Nanonano: Sorry but I think it has passed you by that the funding partner will get a significant slice, up to 50% when it is a small award or only 20% if it is a large award…but definitely the 10% you seem to imply.

@Nanonano: Actually I don’t think so. Legally speaking S could prolong this whole shameful saga by launching appeals but in the meantime N would seek injunctions in other jurisdictions. After ca 12-18 months all appeals will have been dealt with. If S fails again in these they will pay as N could seize S assets.
I don’t think any US judge will look ok kindly on a company that openly flaunts a verdict.

@Ecclescake: So so true. I have to say that how Samsung behaved was utterly shameful. I hope that they get thrown a big cake into their face.

@Screenlearner: The way I judge BT is that he is- not someone who would come out the way he did in his May interview with regard to commercialisation - so I am genuinely relaxed and confident.
I am also confident regarding the trial - even a modest award should boost the share price from current level.
Everyone drink tea and take long walks in the sun.
Life is much more than money.

@mattyboy: Only partially true. One patent runs until 2027 or 2028 and one until 2035 - so enough time to generate decent money.

@Screenlearner: Good question you asked of Sammy88.
I wonder how strong the pressure is for Samsung to settle. We all need to bear in mind that Samsung is an absolute giant of a company. Put simply even if Nanoco might win hundreds of millions of dollars Samsung might not view this as that much pressure given their deep deep coffers.
The real pressure for Samsung might come in only after an adverse court ruling in September as Nanoco would try to get injunctions in some jurisdictions- it is only at that point where Samsung would really suffer.
Never underestimate the arrogance and stupidity of big corporations!
