Making progress in Biotech is a Marathon, not a sprint

HEMO have been running this marathon on CAR-T for many years now - with the finish line now in sight

In tandem, the share price and the opportunity to make investments gains is equally a marathon.

But the good news, is the two are interlinked. With a key milestone hit and another due in 28 days - its a very good sign for investors

It has been a LONG time since i saw a ROCKET used to signify the HEMO share price action. Hopefully we will see a rocket or two very soon

Technically you are correct - we are not necessarily 30 days from clinical trials go ahead. IT IS A MAXIMUM OF 28 NOW, AND ME ME SOONER GIVEN THE PRE SUBMISSION THAT THE FDA HAVE ALREADY FED BACK ON

Oh and statistically, 6 of of 100 times, the FDA may place a clinical hold at this part of the process. That means 94 time out of 100, they do not. Given the huge amount of work and quality of the science at HEMO, I would argue that makes it even more likely that their IND will be part of the 94 out of 100. Basically, it is like have a dice with 16 sides - if it land on any number between 1 and 15 it will get FDA go ahead, if it lands on 16 the FDA have an ask of HEMO before proceeding.

As for a Placing - that is laughable. The audited annual report states that the Directors have all agreed they have the cash they need for at least 12months. They have up to £5-6m in the bank and we can see from the accounts that this comfortably exceeds the current burn rate. The company have only just raised £4m a few months ago. They raised at 2.5p a share.

I AM VERY CONFIDENT THERE WILL BE NO PLACING UNTIL the latter part of 2024.

Very clear where the balance of buys and sells is

It was NT for large parts of yesterday to buy any significant volume.

This allows the MMS to make the market look like it's full of sells and red

The spread then edges up and the MMs allow a few buys but at the previous ASK so that in the context of the new spread, the buys will be red and also appear as a sell.

This does not fool everyone, especially those who follow the stock closely, but it will deter many who follow charts or looking for a momentum trade.

1 - very few rampers on here. Most are long term investors - there is a big difference

2 - As per earlier posts - the SP is not really down - its just a bit of MM foreplay. A re-rate (up or down) creates a lot of risk for MMs , they will be doing what they can to maintain liquidity but also avoid being left short when the price goes up.

Lets see where the price is this time next week, and then 2 weeks after that. If it is still flat, then perhaps we have to accept that the current progress was priced in. I suspect though, that we are just building up to the rise

And regarding "certainty"

That's why today's RNS is welcome - it confirms that an IND submitted. This puts it on the radar

And not long to wait before FDA clearance - which will be another Indicator of vertainty

But my research suggests the following:

1. Very few IND submissions fail at this first hurdle - HEMO have already baked in detailed feedback from FDA as part of Pre IND

2. Small Biotech, particularly at the Pre-Clinical stage perform strongly at this juncture (Vs Big Corporates). They are more 'personal' to the team and represent everything the company is about. Vlad will have gone through every line with a fine tooth comb. We know The IND submission has been overseen by external consultants, partners and benefits from the contribution of 2 key appointments made by HEMO in FY22

3. Over 70% of Drugs make it through Phase 1 trials - Phase 1 tends to involve a small number of patients to ensure it is safe and effective in humans - we know it was VERY effective in the lab. Phase 1 can take time and is very important. The results of Phase 1 tend to have a VERY SIGNIFICANT impact on share prices. If results are good in the first few patients, things will get very exciting

Only a fool will regard the current SP movement to be an assessment of the progress at #HEMO. The market will move when its ready to do so - that may not be today

Today the company confirmed the IND is submitted, 9 months after they clearly laid out the steps that were required to get here:

Move into New Premises - Tick

Set-up and certify clean room (x2) - Tick

Devise, Agree, Test Manufacturing process - Tick

Complete minimum of 3 qualifying runs with 3rd party validation of meeting FDA requirements - Tick

Submit IND - Tick

And so much more to come:

- Exposure in Biotech circles / trade press

- Vlad Interviews investment community / shareholders

- FDA Clearance of IND - maybe even fast track given the pre IND engagement and the critical need for better AML outcomes

- Details / Plan for Human Trails - announce Big Partner

- Commence Human Trials / 1st Patient Dosed

- Next steps on the encouraging CBR and BME continue in the background with Update due and announce Partner

- HEMO to attend key Biotech conferences - potential to present, update analysts and big pharma and big investors

Agree that there is support just shy of 2p.

I personally think 5p to 6p is a realistic target in the coming weeks - hopefully finding support around 4p before the next leg up.

Agree Sprint, but with RNS updates due anytime there is every chance the SP performance this week is good

The small movements in this share price are irrelevant. It is just MMs making a market on very ow volumes. If the SP moves 5% backwards - it is not because the company is valued any less. It is just the MMs finding a price at which they can match, say, a 500k seller with a 500k buyer. I think you would agree that an SP moving up to 5% because 0.04% of the company has been traded is disproportionate

No need to keep looking - just set up an RNS alert AND an alert for when SP moves -10 / +10%.

The SP will move quickly when there is a BIG buyer or seller in town. If and when someone wants £100k shares - wait to see what happens then.....(They wont find JHFH, H4H, Lunus or myself selling any at today's paltry levels)

I am super confident it will get the green light from FDA

Small Biotech have an advantage over big multinationals when it comes to developing at this stage:

They understand the criticality of the IND to their survival as a company

They will take the time that it needs - rather than being pressurised by powerful shareholder's constant demand for commercial progress (YES - bigger companies under MORE pressure from shareholders that little ole 'Hemo)

It's 'personal' to Vlad and his team

They are more entrepreneurial

They will be more focused on the science and safety - less focused on the commercial

yes, probably before. They have announced a partnership, just not said who

HEMO's time is coming thought - mark my words

Small / Micro Caps seems to have perked up a little in the last few weeks - it bodes well

Even BRH having its day again.

Maybe they were trying to distract you from the post in which i said you were right for a change

BB - you need to get in touch wit your patient side.

Hemo is a small Cap - it does not command the same attention that bigger companies get.

Therefore it affords MMs and Investors a little more time before a critical mass of investors drive the price higher.

Pumpky is right - it does perform like an AIM share because it is the size of a typical AIM company

But - those who are well researched, understand the value and potential and inflections points.

This will re-rate - but I cannot say when, It could be today or it could be in 3 weeks time.

Firstly - the difference in buying at 2.13 which is what you could do yesterday and 2.09 today is pretty immaterial. So if you are tempted today, you should have been tempted yesterday. (I certainly was)

Secondly - It looks like a 900k sell at 9.30ish ticked this down. I'm tended to agree with BB - MMs doing all they can to tease out the weak hands at this level
