Spike, the most likely scenario in my opinion is that a deal will be done. They do have cash from the "lock in period " plus investors cash. I do agree that a deal before Christmas would be preferable, but nothing we say on here will change that situation. As I said before I've been waiting patiently for years so a little longer won't make any difference to me. But sooner rather than later would be nice.

True Jerry, I totally agree with you that you need to check out any financial transaction, always be sceptical and don't just take anybody's word for anything. Caution is your friend! Having said that when you join an organisation such as st James place as a customer, you become part of what seems like a financial family and I can pick up the phone and get any advice I need at no extra cost, and I think that's worth having, it's not for everyone but it certainly works for me.

Spike the answer is I don't know,nobody does, but I hope that this will finally come good after many years of waiting. Don't think dilution will happen because there are no reasons to raise money at the moment. My strategy is to be patient and wait and see, what else can we do? We are in the hands of the directors and take over bods.

My advice to you Share Dealer is to sit tight and be patient and enjoy the moment. I add on the dips, but I don't sell because we all know what the most likely scenario will be. Nothing's guaranteed here or in life, only that we will all die eventually. Best of luck to everyone.

Agreed Shippy we all have to make a living. But in my experience whoever you deal with the result is the same,they all need to make money, it's just that I found the advice was so much better and as I said the seminars are free no obligation events, so nothing to lose you just walk away. I also view that the costs that I paid have saved me more money than the fees, which are only paid out when you do business with them. A win win situation for me, and I'm still benefiting from them even though I haven't spent any more money with them.

I concur with most of what you are saying Filthy Rich, but I do like the idea of a discretionary family trusts, which can be a flexible way to enhance your family's fortunes while still having control of the trust, because after all it's your wealth that they are sharing, and hopefully you can educate them on the way so they can learn from you not to make the same mistakes that you made. You can also protect your family from when divorce happens or care home fees when either rears its ugly head. Just my opinion!

I noticed that there were a number of people looking to save/ help their children, which is commendable. I recently went to an investment seminar ( in fact it was yesterday) it was a st James place seminar, one thing that stuck in my mind was how bad junior isas are because once the children hit 18 they have full control over their isa. Family trusts are a better way of saving for your child's future or a child pension. If you contact st James place,attend their seminar, then you will be able to make a more informed choice as to what works for you and they are free to attend. Do it before you choose your path, and if you've already done something still go because you can amend any decision that you are not comfortable with.

Absolutely agree unic. Reading through some of the posts today it seems like some people on here are nervous about NM is going to shaft shareholders. NM has always said that he intends to create shareholder value for all, and I believe that is exactly what he will do, otherwise I would not have been invested here in the first place. He has always struck me as being a fair and honest person, unlike some CEO 's in the marketplace. Good luck to all shareholders.

Agreed the oil prices have come down a bit but it's not reflected at the pumps yet. Still the Iran sanctions have not kicked in yet and the US elections could influence the oil price either way.

Montecristo, not sure that giving the staff a pay rise is a option. It all depends on what government policy is on pay,because a lot of underdeveloped countries have pay restraints in place to stop problems like inflation becoming a problem in the future. It's not always easy to go against local cultural differences,in fact it's quite often detrimental to your business interests in that part of the world,so you need to tread very carefully to ensure harmonious way of life.

I am wondering if Nick has gone for the 60p price and the 3 year option to allow as many as possible local workers to benefit as much as possible from a natural resource which after all is in their country? As someone else said earlier, the workers aren't paid a fortune, but it is the going rate for that part of the world, so I can quite understand why solgold has gone down this particular avenue, makes sense to be as inclusive as possible, which smooths the path to a harmonious coexistence. Seems perfectly fair to me!

Noticed that the spread has narrowed, also analysts say that the company has been oversold,it seems to be coming together nicely.

Maybe there's Oil in them there hills, something is definitely happening in the background, or why the skullduggery. Sudden price movements don't just happen for no reason?
