I was a bit too conservative in my estimate of lunch time. Maybe low 30's later?

In profit already, that doesn't happen very often, well not to me at any rate. Well pleased and less apprehensive now. The other reason why I bought today was this seems such a friendly board to be on, less arguments and sniping. I know most boards have their characters but you can still voice an opinion without getting shot down hopefully.

Been doing some Christmas Shopping today and I've treated myself to some of these shares, wasn't too sure at first but I done some research and against the advice of your resident soothsayer I decided to take the plunge. Hope I have done the right thing, although I'm reasonably happy with my purchase. Time will tell!

I understand what you are saying but does anyone know what they are going to do about a replacement? Or is it possible that they will go private or be taken over?

Boyzee, I've never considered that I move in any kind of exaulted circles or anything like that, they just happened to live in the same village as me. They are just ordinary guys and girls that try to live a simple life out of any limelight, in fact they shun any kind of publicity. They did fly in from Scotland to do a charity bash in a local pub car park on their way to Japan a few years ago. Dave and Pam still go to our local club for a quiet pint and if you didn't know who they were you would just think that they were two ordinary people having a beer, not people who had any sort of fame.

Interesting that the Stranglers comes up on here, l used to repair jj's cars. Yes he is still alive as far as I know, he moved from our village about 9 years ago when he split with Corrine. Dave Greenfield still lives here,I see him most days, they used to run one of the village pubs. JJ moved to somewhere in the Ware area of Hertfordshire I think, he was a Ti Kwando instructor in the village for a few years. Have seen his Gold Discs he was awarded, they were proudly displayed in his hallway. Nice fella.

Boyzee, best thing you can do is to sit on your hands, be patient and wait for the good news, which is what I've been doing for the last two years. Don't be scared sh.tless by commentators on this board who would have you sell, just sit tight it's not going to be that long.. I have every faith in our good Dr that he will deliver, he's not always on time,but hey this is the oil industry we are talking about, which has always been unpredictable due mainly to the unknowns.

Yes Zoros, I do believe that NM is fully intending to do just that. He maybe 63 the same age as I am, but he is also very driven and I can see him going down the jv route to success. He has brought solgold this far, can't see him giving up on his quest to full production, but I'm sure he will do it in such a way as to get the best deal for shareholders which he has always said that he will do..

Agreed Zeusfurla, I think Nick fully intends to take Alpala into production with the help of Newcrest and BHP if they are willing. I think he has the ambition and the drive to do just that. I think that if you get a CEO that is that driven and determined to get what he wants he will take some stopping, and that is just what a company needs to succeed. By the way I also don't have a villa in Yarmouth, nor would I want one, just lightens the mood on the board!

According to Mogg's 18:01 post, the interview with NM, he was suggesting that solg would go into production rather than sell off the asset. That would give real shareholder value, I would suggest that £5 a share wouldn't be out of the way, depending on what you find. I wouldn't dismiss anything at this point in time! Got to be a contender in the grand scheme of things?

I'm sure Nick won't be selling this out too cheaply, he has always said that he will get full value for shareholders which I believe will be the case. The way he's got BHP tied up with the contract the way he has done speaks volumes about the man, he's not stupid. I know that there are ways and means to get around the contract issues, but that would be expensive and could risk upsetting NM, so are BHP prepared to take that risk? I think that they would prefer to work with solgold than against them. Just my view of this!
