I'm also a holder in both DG1 plus a couple of others, personally I think they will all do very well. On the subject of major investors don't forget Newcrest, Solgold's biggest shareholder. I'm sure that they will have a major say in what happens next with solgold. In my opinion I think ggp could be as big as solgold and then there's Asiamet they have such a great opportunity of making it big, they seemed to have slipped off most people's radar, but don't be fooled they have major assets,plus not too far from China so geographically well placed.

Excellent article Searcher, as it says in the article the technology is there, if they use it then coal could have at least another 100 years or longer to go. The more the technology gets used the cheaper it will become and the better it will be for the environment, yes coal is dirty but it doesn't have to be?

It's my belief that Solg and Ggp will both move forward dramatically next year,Gcm is another that will possibly make a move much sooner than the other two,but I can see a rosy future for all 3 of them. That's why I'm fairly well invested in all of them. I have done plenty of research on them, but I recommend that anyone does their own research into anything that they intend to put their hard earned into,then if it all goes wrong then there's only one person to blame! On a brighter note I wouldn't put you off any of them, and slightly longer term Ars.

A couple of good reads there bonker, absolutely agree that copper will do very well in the next few years, but as you say I think commodities will all have their moments which ever way the world gravitates. Potash and coal are also in the mix with the onset of developing countries, that's just my opinion.

Hi Redleader1, from memory it was about £300000 give or take a bit, mind you that was nearly 20 years ago when money was worth a lot more than it is now. I think I had about 170000 shares at the time.

I used to be invested in a company called Just Group, they manufactured kids toys. Made a fortune on them, is that the same company? They went from 1.25p to 19.5 in about 8 months, they were good.

Don't normally like to get involved with tipping games but apart from here (ggp) I like Solg and Ars and Matd, sorry forgot Gcm all very solid in my opinion. If you can't turn a profit in that lot then I'm a Chinaman.Arrrghso

Agreed lookingatgoatS, the only thing I can add to that is that Investing you are in control, you decide when you buy or sell. With gambling the outcome is not in your control, which is important to the eventual outcome. But you are quite correct that other than that the difference between the two is minimal.

Had a quick look at itx, doesn't sound too bad, at least they are fully financed and Akzo Nobel seem quite keen to get on board. They are a company that tend not to back losers, so wouldn't put you off.

You misunderstand DT, that money I used to buy a new car and have a wall coating on my house. So this money is definitely new money,it came from solgold and my savings. Good luck to everyone and to you DT.

Just thought I'd prove Dog Tyred wrong ( ref LTH 's who are too scared to put more money in) and have a top up, to replace the ones I'd sold @ 11.5 p. Should soon be back to those levels as soon as news arrives on many fronts.
