My YouInvest account has done similar weird things after trading hours too, it does correct itself after a while though.

Just been in touch with a friend who lives in Bromley, she has symptoms and wanted a test yesterday but apparently they have run out in that area, she was being sent to Heathrow. Seems odd, given the stated unused capacity?

I don’t think that makes it a no Wilson, just that they have ‘Aura’ software behind the testing process - sounds similar to Halo set up?

Just thinking about vaccine ‘passports’..at present it isn’t known whether having been vaccinated stops you transmitting covid to others - presumably until this has (hopefully) been proven, accurate tests will still be required to show you aren’t carrying it onto a plane/into a hospital or care home?

My understanding Donno, only half of the Pillar 2 Uk PCR testing capacity (mostly in Lighthouse labs but also private partnerships) is being used. Last time I looked, pillar 1, NHS testing almost fully utilised.

They have detected the new ‘uk’ strain in Colorado so that may be driving numbers in the same way as SE England :(

I have wondered that myself Kaeren, it would surely make more sense to shuffle those with natural antibodies further down the queue than they might otherwise be so that those without get priority? I don’t believe that is happening. Maybe an admin burden too far?

Should add..providing that product has been approved for refunds by government, which I thought PCR tests had been (not sure about Winterplex)

How do we know that they aren’t using them? I was under the impression that was slightly opaque because of the way the French health system works, whereby the cost of tests/products used can be reclaimed by individuals/individual healthcare providers rather than bought in bulk by government?

There is also the possibility that GM prefers a volatile share price to having numerous institutional investors breathing down his neck. PI’s are much less like having a ‘boss’ to answer to!

Aside from the massive regulatory headache and additional cost involved in adding a US listing to the current mix, I don’t see how listing in US and having the same proportion of shares in PI hands would work or help, it is this that makes SP fluctuate so madly I believe. So they would have to issue some major chunks of shares to institutions, which, given how cash positive (we believe) the company is, is really unnecessary. It might work if there was a very substantial acquisition to be made to use the cash but at present I’d imagine BOD happy with AIM as it has such light regulation and they already have to also consider France.

Sure 5 days for rapid antigen results is a typo?

The choice of tests question is a bit of a red herring, of course most people would choose cheaper but AFAIK only the US considers antigen acceptable, most countries insist on PCR. Hence that being ‘more popular’

I think those valuation figures were what current value is and the high it hit in October, rather than forward looking.

Versalab is a service, not a product in itself. So the gist is, whatever covid testing solutions you need, go to Versalab for the appropriate package. So that could be the whole thing, eg staff, a mobile unit and fast turnaround tests, or it could be the Q machines, tests and lab facilities to already established healthcare providers such as Wren. For a big co you may already have in house healthcare and need machines, tests and staff training. So Versalab will provide different things to different customers. That’s my take anyway.

I haven’t looked at timings of publication of bidstats, though I know they often seem to reappear with revisions to descriptions or values...could it be that the initial publication specifies authorised spend and this can be revised during the contract period, then only at the end of the period is actual spend published?

The truth is that no one seems totally clear on this Jungla! (Even DHSC?! Wouldn’t surprise me). Either the government or the company seem unwilling or unable, at this point, to disclose actual spending commitment beyond phase 1 confirmation. It may be that DHSC are just giving themselves scope to spend up to £406m without promising anything specific? According to the contract it appears that there should have been some kind of confirmation of future purchases by DHSC in November so that stock could be released to other customers if not-but we have been told nothing...could be there is a handshake on this to stop it becoming announceable for some reason - we are all guessing a bit - unless someone here actually does know how the bidstats are really working!

Agree Chris, by visibility, rather than particular forecasts I mean some sense of how long term contracts are likely to be, how embedded we are with NHS (phase 2 is key to this and that aspect is for me more important that the revenue it brings in 2021), how much worldwide reach. Personally I think we will have news of another clever acquisition soon to help this forward vision.
