That's bolloc** - most companies that put out quarterly numbers will know the production figure at the very start of the following month, that doesn't mean they are ready to put out an update immediately.

It's perfectly reasonable for them to release the full year report first, this week, then put out a quarterly operational update next week.

The time for buybacks was when the share price sat at 40p, there's no need to waste cash if we're at a slightly more reasonable level of say £1.

I hope this huge rise doesn't lead to sudden tedious ramping on here from the same old accounts that do the rounds... I like it when it's just the LT holders!

After such a big rise yesterday I did wonder if we'd see a rertace today... there was certainly some selling first thing and then off it went past 60p, nice!

As one of the least communicative or 'frothy' companies on AIM novacyt has never been leaky on news although over 1 million shares traded today out of the blue somewhat is quite unusual.

I'd still argue this is simply confidence returning, knowledge that for certain the cash in the bank is not ring-fenced, possibly a bit more belief in the words of management that have since day one argued that they believe they have 'strong grounds to assert their contractual rights' re the DHSC. Maybe an II / HNW started buying today which set off traders to catch the uptrend?

What we can be pretty sure of is post dispute outcome, with zero debt (and therefore very low risk), novacyt will be trading at/around their net asset value at a minimum. At last count that's £115m / £1.63 a share. And worth noting there's barely any intangible assets/goodwill on the balance sheet to give an artificial NAV.

Flowerpot, I'd argue it's because the bitcoin price in the very near term is not quite as important as it was pre placing. We can be confident that Argo have many months (at least 4?) of cash runway otherwise there's no way any institutions would cough up at 10p.

The serious, existential threat starts showing if bitcoin hasn't recovered by around late September time and that's when I'd expect, all things being equal with bitcoin, for the share price here to implode.

'It is expected that the Fundraising Shares will be admitted to trading on the Main Market of the LSE on 12 March 2021 (or such later date as may be agreed between the Company and finnCap, but no later than 18 March 2021).'

The next rns was on the 26th and was unrelated to the placing.

Exactly Kaeren, this rise on top of the steady climb (~38p to 45p) is the very opposite of a p&d.

This is confidence returning to the share and awareness of just how much potential upside is possible before we even get to June 2024.

I'd hazard a guess that it's not HCl but instead traders attempting to 'get in ahead' of HCI, expecting them to dump.

Refinancing has already been sorted (pending conclusion) and yes it includes an equity raise... it's a subscription with Orion Mine Finance at a huge PREMIUM, not discount, of 6p. Here's an extract from the relevant rns:

Exactly Ben. We aren't talking about capex-heavy expansion at Vanchem, the costs have already been sunk. I'm sure they'll be small cost increases but the overall costs / break even will come down considerably to close to $30/kgV.

In an interview in May Fortune stated that they were anticipating to get to the 2500mtV run rate at Vanchem by the latter parts of this year so there appears to still be confidence that this can be achieved without further capex. Let's see record quarterly production next week (I'd like to see over 450mtV) and we can start to have hope on this front.

Good posts Pdub - Vanchem is the biggie. If progress is being seen and Craig is able to reach the 2500+mtV run rate this year without additional capex then this really will prove to be the mother of all undervaluations. At ~5200mtV with all in costs close to $30/kgV BMN will be highly profitable even with the most cautious of V price forecasts and an absolute cash cow if the more optimistic projections in a buoyant vanadium market come to fruition. And that's just the mining side.

Of course it could be Odey, all we know is that Odey Asset Management had ~ 12,232,168 shares as of the end of June, they could well have halted the last of the selling until the Q2 update before selling the rest into strength Thurs/Fri.
