Whilst sentiment can play a role for the PI in particular, there are also other factors at play that can cause SP manipulations like 'unexpected' placings, shorting of a stock by non-PI, convoluted financing arrangements that cause dilution to PI's etc etc - hence the 'unexplainable' SP disparity between stocks in the same sector.

It feels MATD has been shorted, hence the SP continues below the last placing at 10p despite us drilling but once the shorts get closed, the SP will overreact on the upside from 8p level.

Non-transparent forces at work make this game difficult, hence the need to own 6-10 stocks not just 1 or 2 (but MATD is a rare opportunity indeed).

I noticed on sharesmagazine.co.uk my transaction shown as having going through twice but not on LSE. Hmm... strange one.

Our time has been coming for several months now....it will come...just need a few more months.

Did anyone else but 48,300 shares this afternoon (at 16:05)? It's strange the same transaction appeared twice?

When that happens after after being invested a long time - then it is high time to realise the markets get manipulated except that now it is more evident than ever before.

More patience needed here...

Re BPC, it would appear MM's and other manipulators are luring in unsuspecting PI's on the chance that an agreement will be reached whilst the opposite is happening to MATD right now - PI's put off due to weak SP movement.

But check out volumes over last two months with placing and spud news for MATD and no (real) news for BPC:

MATD - approx 230m (about 35% of 660m issued or 45% excluding Petrovis) and the SP went from 9.2p to 8.2p. So many sells and yet so little movement on price. Hmm....

Compare to BPC post-talks RNS, the SP moved from 3p to 7p on no news and volumes totalled 400m (about 25% of 1600m issued) much less than MATD's 45% and yet SP more than doubles.

Which is the better risk/reward play? Well, I know where my money is at this juncture of both company's developments.

We're hitting the bottom of the LT trend line - I know those who don't have a deeper understanding of market mechanics etc and are feeling fearful, don't be. This stock will come good and it's all about the timing. Bonkers did a recent update on the charts worth a look. I would buy more or just hang in there over next several months, even if first drill result fails. many more to still come after that as Mr P keeps reminding us :-))

This is massive in more ways than one - of course there is a massive find here but we as PI's are also being massively played here with the constant placings and hence slow rise in SP - if it keeps heading upwards (which in our case it should) then LT that is fine.

However, instead of a placing our well known investor could have easily given a convertible loan which would have been better for us the masses as opposed to constantly giving him free warrants - hardly a fair and just playing field but it is what it is.

Recent RNS's from other O&G plays and mining stocks have 'unexpectedly' announced further placing shares (seems to be a habit more than ever before, hence usually making it more difficult for PI's to make serious money).

I am now glad MB got two major placings out of the way BEFORE the star of drilling in 2018 and 2019.

Was this by accident, or is MB a genius to have had the foresight to have done two major placings as part of an understanding that bigger players these days will only farm-in post-discovery AND is he also honest and sincere enough to have also allowed us PI's tobenefit from the upside whilst most AIM companies are being stifled?

I hope by the end of 2018/19, I will be able to personally thank MB for his genius and honesty :-))

Apologies for longer post, as we wait for key news is weeks away - It is good to see under-handed tactics of short-selling by those in the know being exposed and even then most PI's will deny it ever happens because of the conditioning of their minds in the system we live in.

Until one has been hard done by and then reverts to the system for help, most will never realise that in fact it is set up mostly to do the opposite (no every time of course, as that would make it too obvious).

People predictably call for the FCA to look into these tactics (but the problem is that they are a part of the system that allows such things to happen!!).

More need to wake up and better understand the ever changing mechanics of the markets which are generally set up against the interest of the masses and hence the reasons for the placings, convoluted financing arrangements, short selling etc etc that causes the SP to fall - not every time, as that would be too obvious even for the most numbed of minds. And so the games continue....

Hopefully more of us who use BB's will be more genuine and sincere when posting and by helping others, in the end we are also helping ourselves to feel better within and we can even make some money along the way :-))

People are getting too far ahead of themselves, always calling for next week to be the week. Two big buys, yes, but following the big 900,000 sell which has not even appeared on the trades shown bt share magazine.

It appears too many manipulations still going on in the market right now. Mr P also pointed out the SP differentials in US and UK.

Until we get proper movement on the upside, we ain't going anywhere too fast just yet and it could be several more weeks or months even of the same contrary to what most PI's expect.

Annoying to say the least but it is what it is.

MO - Is this guy for real? I have seen this too often with those appearing out of the blue on a BB spouting about an upcoming RNS, as if they are an insider. Usually leads to nothing (except perhaps a filtering of the name).

We are all aware they are drilling and await an RNS regardless of whether tomorrow or in a month's time, it makes no difference except that we need major news to finally spark a re-rate to where we should be following the short-selling.

Great day today and a close above yesterday's closing SP will confirm to me the end of the downtrend. This is now headed only one way and that is up.

Well done to those PI's who were not fooled by the recent orchestrated short-selling.

To clarify, will MATD report on any oils shows or will it be a 'tight hole', so no reporting until TD?

Powerplay agreed,AEX is now set up for longer-term growth albeit having given away 50% of the 1.9Tcf for a non-market price (a clear sign PI's to wake up and realise that this is a controlled market not for our benefit).

Nevertheless a 25% (0.47 Tcf) is still significant and so there is scope for major SP evolution from these 2.2p levels to reflect a much fairer MC for AEX's 0.5Tcf as the field gets developed.

..going on and we are down by a great big whoppin..wait for it.....1.66%. Hmm.... perhaps shares are being picked up at this low SP for the inevitable rise that will follow at some point soon enough. GLA!

It sometimes does because the markets get manipulated at the expense of most PI's through placings (as opposed to rights issues, as used to be more common place), short-selling mechanisms and other machinations. It is what it is and something that most PI's are ignorant of as they have been too programmed to believe otherwise.

The SP will recover as they work through this deal - shares are being picked up on the cheap here.

At 3mins in he mis-speaks by saying "..the key for everybody in this group..or the key for all shareholders is that.."

And there you have it, PI's get shafted yet again, It really should force more people to look within and question oneself to realise the degree of control in the system we live in.

A few months wait now for SP to head back up to 4p level as they progress this deal.

WOW! That's the best Buy timing I have ever had :-)) I feel more BUYS to come - this is a definite change in the trend. Upwards and onwards from here and over next 6-12 months.
