Well predicted! You have to go back to 24th April 2015 to see a price at this level (1050p) and it then slid down a precipice to reach a nadir at 513p on 16th Nov that year. It has been a long slog to get back up to these levels and lets hope that it can hold up. I sold a tranche I picked up at 527p in the high 700s. My average is now 740p and I am in for the long term.

Skindle you would appear to be right given the BBC headlines this morning, which pick up on the £554M costs of the Trent 1000 repairs. Selective reporting though as the results in the RNS were otherwise broadly positive and as RR had widely trailed the likely costs of the Trent problems in the past few weeks the news was already in the price. Anyway we may have to wait for our divi uplift, but otherwise RR seems to be on a good trajectory.

Nice to see this move up in a sea of red elsewhere today!

richred_uk. Thanks for that and I think you could be right. If so, it paints a much rosier picture of things as they now stand. Thinking about it getting a share for that amount of discount makes little sense and your scenario is much more credible. On the down side these rights did not fetch as much as last time around (well over £2) but that perhaps reflects the fact that the PHNX share price was significantly higher at that time than it is now.

No surprise really. As pointed out in this mornings press LLOY is a completely UK-faced business and is therefore marked down by uncertainty over Brexit. In return for this fiscal drag as well as the effects of the ongoing PPI uncertainty, holders are being rewarded for their patience with a dividend yield of about 5.5%.

Interesting! I wonder how many shares were acquired in this way at a substantial discount to the 518p price? If there were a lot then this could hold down the SP for a while as buyers take the substantial profit by selling into the market. However, as always you don't hold PHNX for the capital growth but for the very generous dividend payments. It will be interesting to see what the next dividend payment will be as I will be using the cash to begin to re-balance my portfolio, which is now a bit overweight in this stock.

Not for me, but I can see asset sales down the line. For me this is a recovery play while taking the divi in cash for use elsewhere. It also helps if you got your first tranche of shares for nowt a long time ago..........

The SP always seems to get the wobbles just post results (trading updates). Chill out and if you are lucky you might just get Ian Cowie's (Sunday Times) entry price of a few weeks ago (around £34).

Exactly, at these prices and with an 8% yield it is a no brainer. Surprised the price has held up so well all considered!

It would be nice to see this back over 10 quid and stick there. It would also be nice (and might help) if the dividend were to be increased to a level that would attract income hunters. Since the profit warnings this has really been a recovery play, but hopefully that phase is coming to an end now? Just look at BP today compared with a few years ago it would be great to see RR reach that point, but perhaps they are still a little way behind them in terms of the road to recovery.

Their rights allocation instead of taking it up? I would be interested in how much they got. I sold my wife's allocation for her at the last RI as she did not have the spare cash to take it up at the time. I seem to remember the result was fairly paltry about 230p per share.

Why is every other index showing yesterday's closing price for RMG at 457.10p and thus a gain of 12-13p today whereas here we are down 3.40 on a closing price of 473.40? I thought it was fault with my phone app but have checked Yahoo finance and Google and they all agree that we closed out at 457.10p last night.

Wetdream. Comparing FEVR to TESLA and its somewhat eccentric potty-mouthed CEO and chief fantasist is pretty lame fare. Musky has a significant fraction of Wall St opinion against him with some going so far as to accuse him of running a Ponzi scheme. In contrast, our drinks tiddler is run by two fairly same and intelligent men who seem to have the knack of steering a course through expansion without ******* anyone off that actually matters or borrowing billions of pounds. I had reservations about this share when I piled in at fifteen quid, but having watched a video of Charles Rolls explaining the business and it's evolution and liking what I heard I bought in. Ian Cowie in the ST thinks so too having bought more at 34 quid a few weeks ago with FEVR now his biggest holding.

The best news is that it has risen from 1707p to 1771p since your post on Monday!

I hear AZN is "stockpiling" drugs in advance of a possible Brexit shambles. As they are Anglo-Swedish is it not possible that they could simply do a Unilever and re-domicile in Sweden? Thus they would sidestep the mess. It would be terrible result for the British economy particularly given the efforts taken by the UK government to prevent the sale of AZN to Pfizer a few years ago, but it would protect shareholder value.

Don't see it breaching a fiver today in a flat to falling market, even with the good(ish) news, but happy to be proven wrong!
