Could not agree more. Our local Tesco is a grade A dump. They expanded it hugely in the 2000's adding retail space for electrical and clothing. The former has all been rolled back leaving the store looking vaguely empty in places, the staff look as if they would rather be anywhere else and the overall impression is poor. It almost makes ASDA look like Waitrose. Morrisons and Sainsbury seem to have managed to keep their stores much fresher looking and inviting by comparison. They also shot themselves in the foot by ending Clubcard Plus as they had a guaranteed £500 a month from us for 15 years. Now I doubt if we make it into three figures in our monthly spend with them despite it being on the way home from work.

Good luck. I am fully invested here, but if things were otherwise I would be buying now.

Well if you think that this brand has a great future do not be deterred by the high valuation. Buffett he say never be put off by hight share prices if you really believe in the business model.

Mr market seems to have ticked up nicely since the buffoon announced his departure!

I doubt there will be a special dividend, but if the windfall is to go anywhere it should be used to pay down debt. A share buyback is the least attractive option available.

Any bets on how long this clown will last?

Rolls Royce is pressing ahead with plans to move design approval for its engines to Germany in order to safeguard the company against the risk of disruption due to Brexit. From todays Torygraph. Will this involve some job losses here in UK and corresponding increase in Germany or is this simply an administrative change so paperwork is submitted through German regulators instead of in UK?

The last RI was 7 new shares at 508 for every 12 already held and the dividend per share paid immediately before the RI (Oct 8th 2016) was 26.7p per share. After the RI this declined to 23.9p for the May 2017 payment and from Oct 2017 has been held at 25.1p per share. I am no mathematician but to pay you the same divi on the increased No of shares you would own (19 instead of 12) they would have had to reduce the payment to 17p which they clearly did not.

If you were in PHNX for the last RI look at what they did then. From memory there was a reduction in the divi paid immediately after the RI so that it reflected the increased number of shares in play.

Reckons the HBOS fiasco will cost LLOY up to £1B to settle outstanding cases as he prepares to launch his legal action.

On the positive side, RR have won a US defence "engine sustainment" contract worth $420M. On the negative, All Nippon Airlines have announced the cancellation of 113 domestic flights affecting 21,000 passengers while they carry out mandatory checks on RR Trent 1000 engines powering their fleet of Boeing 787's. More flight cancellations may follow as airlines struggle to lease sufficient backup capacity.

Ian Cowie buys more Fevertree stock at £34.14. He is backing success for FEVR in the US market. Hoever he notes that a big drop may come on half year results later in July if they are not exceptionally good. Longer term though he is positive and FEVR remains his biggest holding.
