OK naive then. Dumb was probably a tad harsh. Even I as a long term holder thought about getting out once it hit £6 but have been burnt in the past trying to predict the future. Business trip to Hannover this past week and even the Lufthansa inflight magazine was full of the Brexit bonus for Frankfurt where they are building a whole new district of up-market accommodation to cater for their (conservative) estimates of 8-10,000 staff + families relocating from banks in London. Everyone I spoke to there thought the UK govt was in meltdown. Having just got back I find it difficult to disagree.

If this unfolding story turns more negative on the death of the Washington Post journalist then the BAE systems SP is bound to come under increasing pressure given the volume of deals that the company has with the KSA.

You would have to have been pretty dumb to buy a share like RMG at over 6 pounds! A quick look at the SP graphs would have told you that £6 was a transient high based on the false euphoria of the RMG/CWC pensions deal and a clear sell trigger for those looking for profit rather than an indication of better things to come. Most people also use pre-set trailing stop losses to get out when a share turns negative.

So no more UK investment until Brexit is resolved. Perhaps they should pay a special dividend with some of the accumulated unspent cash then?

All depends what the DOW does until the close of play today. If it recovers then we may have a calmer day. However, if it continues its downward plunge then tomorrow will be more of the same on the FTSE

As I post this RR. are down 20.54% on their £11 peak
while RMG are down 45.30% on their peak of £6.31
Where on earth did " Rmg 80% down" come from? Even if you take the 52 week low of £3.22 for RMG it is only 49%. I thought you were numerate being an ex engineer.

Could not agree more about that shower. I have have had things "left" in the empty dustbin at the back of the house a number of times. Only sheer luck has led to me finding them before the weekly bin collection. Another trick is leaving them with anyone in the 5 or six houses around ours and simply putting "left with a neighbour" ie. no house number. If anything goes wrong the driver is also meant to leave his name and a telephone contact number........they never do, the card is always left blank.

I would not be so sure about good news on the EU negotiations leading to a rise in the FTSE. The primary event each time even a whiff or rumour of good news comes our regarding a deal being struck in the BREXIT talks is an immediate rally in the value of sterling and in response the stock market always falls.

He has dropped a significant amount of money there so he at least must be confident about the future for FEVR. If the notice in The Gazette was for the 18th September and it was a winding up order for a trading subsidiary of the company why did it take until the 9th October for the BOD to know something was badly wrong and issue an RNS?

Barclays remains one of the few brokers still advocating topping up holdings in Royal Mail PLC following the recent profit warning. Barclays Capital today reaffirms its overweight investment rating on Royal Mail Plc. However it cut its price target to 410p (from 605p).
