It is hardly enough to spook the markets given that Centrica are now the 180th most shorted company in the FTSE at 0.7% with only one institution (Blackrock, who do little else but go short). By contrast Royal Mail Group are now up to 20th in the chart at 6.3% of stock shorted by 9 institutions (the highest being....you guessed it Blackrock)!

Halifax Stocks and Shares ISA reinvest the following day after a dividend has been paid at nominal cost and only charge £12.50 per annum irrespective of balance. There is also a cheap dealing day once a month at £3.95 per trade (+SD). I do not think this service can be beaten for either cost or convenience. The biggest delay you can have on a divi reinvestment is Friday to Monday.

Well we were down 5.56% on Friday alone and have recovered ......1.35% so far today. I would argue that Mr market still thinks this deals stinks for whatever reason. Don't get me wrong I am a long term holder and do not intend to sell up, but Sorryhat may have overplayed his hand with this placing.

What shorters? There are no declared short positions in Aviva as of today so if there are any short sellers they must have very very small positions and are thus unlikely to be able to influence the share price.
