Gross margin depends what you are selling. Higher cost products may have higher gross margins but typically higher costs too. I note you don't quote the net margins.

A business churning out 13% profits looks healthy, and is currently priced at 6.5X post tax profits. Next is twice as expensive. And it isn't a competition, why not own all 3 ?

this should signal a bright future as the cruise/travel business is beating expectations. i am sure the second half update at the end of january will signal continuing good profitability of cruise and travel, and decent booking levels for 2025. demographics are in saga's favour and still many will want holidays after the covid bull**** and before they die.

The minimum wage was always a socialist idea. If it is low enough it doesn't reduce jobs too much, but ramp it up and jobs will be cut as it become too expensive to employ people. Many people may only want unskilled part time, temporary, or casual work - but employers won't offer it if the minimum wage is too high.

You cannot just keep hiking up minimum wage to make everyone wealthy. Economic growth doesn't work like that - or perhaps you want to pay £100 for a hair cut, and will find an accountant that doesn't mind working for the same wage as a barber.

Moonpig results out today. It is quite amusing to me how they make (very very roughly) half the profit of CARD but the market values them at a 3 times higher price.

People seem to lose their head over investing in tech. Moonpig online card costs £4, Card Factory online card costs £1.80.

That Moody's piece is old news and was discussed at the time as being very questionable nonsense. It had no effect whatsoever on the price of the SAGA bonds in the market place which remains high because it was nonsense.
