The biggest problem is not the lower profit per se, but the blindsiding and the doubt it creates in leadership competence. At the end of September they said...

Yet now at the 11th hour a major profit warning for the key second half. It just indicates leadership not remotely managing expectations or being realistic with forward statements. Presumably they have been seeing the problem in weekly sales figures for 6 weeks plus.

I know nothing, but it does slightly feel like someone had a limit order in on Friday to be filled at up to 300p, and someone had a limit order in today to be filled at up to 315p or maybe 320p. Could be anyone I guess, whether the shorter (why they didn't close months ago seems pig stupid), Roger, or other investors or funds looking to start building a stake.

I guess the thinking being the coming weeks should see positive news on closing the insurance deal and next years forward bookings and profit expectations, and FTSE250 entry.

There is obviously a HUGE conflict of interest regarding shareholders of both HICL and TRIG, because clearly this deal is very heavily biased towards TRIG shareholders as reflected in the market price impact - TRIG up, HICL down by 10%.

The Board should resign, they have just conferred an over 8% loss on their shareholders by overpaying for undesirable renewables assets. Meanwhile TRIG investors are laughing all the way to the bank.

I think I recall that insurance policies are passing over to the new arrangement at their annual renewal date, so the full transfer across will take 12 months ? So if paid £80M which is then effectively given back as policies transfer over that transition year would that not represent an average cash balance benefit over the transition year of £40M. If used to save 10% interest there might therefore be a one off £4M benefit to the bottom line for the single transition year. But will all depend on details, renewal seasonality, and what was or wasn't factored into the deal sums etc etc. Hopefully the calculations were carefully done by the CFO to be positive and very worst case neutral for SAGA.
