The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Somewhere between 1p and £50.
Blue Cruise has been installed and switched on. Cars coming from the factory have it and there are many YouTube videos of customers using it.
He hasn’t done what the poll said at all. He didn’t sell 10% of his holdings. All he’s done is what ha had to do, poll or not. He had a large tax bill coming due to options which were vesting. He had to sell shares for that. The poll was just another stupid childish PR stunt. But the fanboys ate it up.
Is CFP a Tesla stan? Explains a lot! I can’t see his posts but I’m gathering it from what people are saying.
Redindi- I hope you’re right! I’m always dubious about regulators actually enforcing things “properly” and very cynical about Tesla’s ability to integrate systems that really shouldn’t be allowed. I hope they end up approaching a reputable DMS provider but I just think fElon will continue to work the line that “it’s a stop gap until robo taxis powered by Dogecoin”. I hope the regulators are rigorous in their checks, but sadly it’s not always been the case up to now. Not sure if you’ve driven a Tesla with advanced autopilot but I can tell you it was less capable than I was expecting. And yet it’s on almost every Tesla out there and used daily on public roads. Even worse is the whole FSD beta debacle on America’s public roads. Fingers crossed you’re right though. Personally I think I’d rather they went with SmartEye though as it could end up reflecting badly on us if they implement DMS badly in Teslas. But I’d settle for anything that makes Teslas safer.
Redindi: problem is, I don’t actually think Tesla cares about how good it is. They’re doing it because they have to, not because they want to. They’ll just put anything in there that meets the letter of the regulations. They’re not interested in making it good, so they’ll just slap lipstick on the pig and sell it to the cult.
Tesla have now enabled their camera to provide a pretty basic form of DMS. But the new Model S cabin camera also has IR emitters next to it so it looks likely that they are still working on in-house DMS and now have IR sensing. I’d imagine they’ll start putting those IR versions of the hardware in all their cars soon.
Many companies (particularly American ones) take on debt to avoid paying tax on their overseas earnings. By holding the cash overseas, they can take on debt using it as collateral. The cash raised by debt is tax free. If the interest paid on the debt is less than the tax that they would pay, then they are better off. That’s why Apple has debt and probably also why Qualcomm does.
The only tax you would pay on US shares would be a withholding tax on dividends, which I don’t think we need to worry about for a while! But I’d also rather not move across to be honest. A dual listing would be bearable, but would prefer to just move to the main UK market when the time comes.
By the way, FWIW I think the first Japan win we announce will be Honda not Toyota.
I read yesterday that Mirai had its best every month in March. The new model sold 750 units in the month. It’s not high volume, but it’s better than I’d have expected. But if we were in it and the Lexus, it would be a gateway to the real volume stuff. But I have to say I’m still sceptical. I hope it’s us, but I have my doubts.
Let’s hope so. That would certainly move the share price!
Fingers crossed it is us. But it really looks like an iterative development of the one in the picture in that 2007 article I linked. Not sure on this one.
Is that definitely SEE? Lexus have had an in-house camera based system on top of the wheel since 2006.

:D :D :D. There you go. Just like a pigeon that lost at chess. Awesome.
And exactly my point. Why tell me I need to read an economics textbook to understand dilution, then direct me to a mode which has nothing to do with dilution affecting a share price. I get that you feel the need to sound like the smartest person in the room all the time, but you’re really not. Sometimes (usually), a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
You may consider a 12.2 percent increase in number of shares in issue to be marginal. I don’t.
Schnorrer: Very familiar with that. What would you say that model values SEE at?
Schnorrer: which economics textbook would you recommend? What’s your favourite?
It’s the same thing. You can’t see that? Strange...
