CEO interview
What test are you looking at? Anitgen or Antibody?
Key point, this is a test for the antigent, equivalent to the type of PCR testing, where many countries are struggling from a capacity testing
PCR is nasal swab that is sent to the lab
we are trying to deliver a different way to detect the antigena and provide a saliva based test
This can take place in a car park?
Absolutely, in principle it can be provided direct to consumers (regulatory hurdles) but it is a test strip in the same was as how a pregnancy test
is done on a test strip, only in this case with saliva
How far down the road are you? How reliable and scale?
In order to detect the antigen, you need a regagent that will detect the viral particle (e.g. spikes on the outside of the virus)
it takes time to develop those new reagents, typically that takes many months
we have a technology that we have developed over a number of years, called the affirmer, is a very rapid way of developing reagents to detect new pathogens
we can do this in a few weeks vs a few months, we are in the middle of that process and in 2-3 weeks we will know if we have successfully developed a reagent
in a further 2-3 weeks, we will know if we have a test that will work
Mass scale?
So those affirmers and reagents can be put onto a range of test strips, such as pregnancy / lateral flow - that is the subject of our partnership with
Cytiva AKA GE Healthcare, equally the type of test could also be put onto hosptial high througput platforms
