Someone came on the AVCT board before and I made a comment about how NCYT PCR test will still be in need in certain countries / territories however RPOC LFD devices will certainly reduce the demand for PCR testing, so the revenue stream from standard PCR IMO would dwindle as better technologies and methods come on board
Just to clarify, I have a prediction for three stages of testing
1. PCR testing (what we have now)
2. High SE/SP Portable PCR testing (What NCYT just announced)
3. Front Line RPOC LFD testing (what AVCT are proposing, fully aware not validated yet but if AVCT dont do it somebody will, regardless it's the next step)
So for me, NCYT just went from stage 1 to stage 2, let me tell you that is a hugely significant leap, it likely extends their revenue by a significant time frame, it allows them to displace older PCR methods from rival companies and thirdly it allows them to book new revenue streams due to the fact it can be reported within 24 hours
Hopefully the SE/SP is 100% on these tests because if it is then NCYT valuation should soar, a huge opportunity here to take the next step for this company
Game changer? Certainly has the potential, I am back in - I did say this was a trade but will see how it goes because I seriously think they could book some significant revenue from this
Just yesterday I was reading a report that suggested we need to get turnaround times within 24 hours! Well done NCYT
For what it's worth I think NCYT and AVCT can promote UK testing, AVCT RPOC LFD device to front line screen, then use NCYT portable device to screen all positive, symptomatic or even recreen (no time constraint) this is what they are doing in New Delhi where they are using a low sensitivity rapid antigen test to mass screen, any positives get sent to a confirmation however they are also screening everyone though PCR as well by using both methods you catch positives a lot quicker, more expensive but very effective
They are conducting 15000 rapid antigen tests per day but also 5000 PCR tests, so significant demand for both, excited by this news announcement
