Another thing to think about is why DS gave up 10% of his own company (the one that owns 10% of EUA). Presumably because having AC on board would increases EUA's value by significantly more than 1%.

I wonder who it was that brought UBS into the mix here....? Just postulating here.

What does your research tell you?

In other words, without proper research people could only put in 'punt money'. With proper research people can put in proper money. EG:

Punt of £1,000 - get a phenomenal return of 400%. Congrats, you made £4,000 (if you got in at the bottom and sold at the top which is virtually impossible. And if you keep doing this you'd probably end us losing money elsewhere).

Proper investment - £10,000 - get a decent return of 50%. Congrats, you made £5,000 with significantly less risk IMO.

I never buy into stocks that have just seen a large rise.

This has almost always served me well because I'd get spiked.

The exception was EUA. I didn't buy in when it went from 0.4 to 2 in 2 days because I was worried about the spike. It took me a few days to research the company and then buy in above 2p. That time spent cost me a buying opportunity. BUT it was the sensible course of action, and the only reason I went in as heavily as I did when I decided to buy. That research enabled me to put a large % of my PF here at 3p. Without the research it would have been just a small punt and I would have sold ages ago.

I have no idea where you are coming from, but on the face of it you seem to be interested in investing/trading but seem to be getting information from other people's posts.

If I may be so bold as to suggest that instead of posting so much you read a couple of books. A lot of your questions will already be answered and if you have a question it will come from a base of knowledge.

I recommend 'The Intelligent Investor' for investing and I understand that 'The Alchemy of Finance' is useful for trading (I've never read it since I'm not a trader).

Above all else, an investor/trader MUST be able to temper their emotions.

Personally, I don't look at my average at all. To me the question is simple - do I think it will go up from where it is today or down? If up, can I do even better elsewhere? That's all.

Why should we get only a small premium from where we are today? Why not a small premium from where we were last week?

Because that wouldn’t make any sense. Last weeks sp was far too low and the situation has already moved on.

Just like it soon won’t make sense to assume we’d get a small premium from today’s price. Today’s sp is still far too low and I believe the situation will continue to develop such that a 30-35p will no longer make any sense. Just my opinion.

The assets at EUA are shown at cost in the accounts, not a market value. The issue here is a potential buyout of the assets............... AT MARKET VALUE.

What is the market value of 19M oz of PGM you ask? Well, NAP had 3M oz of PGM and were sold last year for £600M. You can do the maths yourself.

There are plenty of other examples just from today.

Nobody knows if this is going up or down. Crazy to label some as 'comforting' and some as 'maggots'.

And btw, there's a guy here who keeps saying he's topped up and has said that at every level for months. I call BS. I think he's lying to this board. Either that or he is sitting on huge losses. Either way, why does anybody listen to him?
