I would argue that Russia already lost quite a long time ago.
The best they can hope for now is to avoid total humiliation.

the Ministry of Communication proposed to hold the 10th Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting in first week of April 2023.

Looking at the trades you can clearly see the movement of those shares from an II to PIs.

IIs are short term and would happily take 10% made in a week. PIs have the option of being patient (not always taken….) and wait for the big rewards in a year or two.

There most definitely is. And demand will only grow and grow as we decarbonise.
If we sign a binding offtake agreement with EGA (I dare say the Sheikh who has massive influence on both sides of these negotiations will ensure this happens), you won't be able to say there's no money in it, we'd have a customer lined up.

There are lots of compelling reasons to believe that both the GH and Thar projects will come good at some point.

All detractors are doing is popping up here to say "see, they haven't happened yet."

Well yeah.
And they will continue to not happen until they happen.
And by that time these detractors will have long vanished from the bb.

EDITORIAL: ****stan’s energy imports - petroleum, LNG, LPG, and coal-stood at $25 billion in the last fiscal year. Within it, the share of transport is the highest while its efficiency in usage is woefully low. This is not sustainable and has to change. In the medium to long term, the focus has to shift on indigenous energy resources, including renewables, to produce electricity, and by using primary energy sources efficiently. Transportation, especially public and logistic transport, must slowly move towards electric.

The good news is that upcoming projects in the IGCEP (Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan) have focused on indigenous thermal sources, mainly the Thar coal, and renewables, including hydel. With inclusion of these, the component of imported fuels will decline in proportion, reducing generation cost.
