I can't remember the SP at the start of the announcement was it about a quid higher so the buyback is working well then! or should we be happy that they are investing at cheaper prices. Off another 30p today, is that down to divi cover being at the bottom end of the range? The continued drops are awakening my interest for a top up and happy that the divi is going up by a couple of percent due to inflation. Now if only they had given me that 50p I expect I might get better results on a return even if it was used to buy back here just like they are doing. I think what Woody is saying is correct. What it does give them is time to adapt to the new lower poo. Of course we wont know how correct he is for some time and even if he is wrong on oil, as long as his other investments do ok there is nothing lost and maybe less risk. I did have some funds with Woody and they did fine. Doubt I will be buying into his new fund, as least not right now. He did invest in HSBA when he said no to banks although I think he might have sold since on concerns over fines. RR. differs in that it wasn't a divi share as the majority of mine are. On Brokers I see GS upgraded to buy with a 1030p target last month. The consensus view has improved with more brokers now more positive than 3 months ago. So which broker is right? As for focusing on negatives or is that the current news. Not much positive news at the moment and I expect some more bit to come out of the woodwork before things turn for the better, which is only a matter of time. Also I tend to look for shares on a down to buy, so generally news is full of negatives anyway. When it all turns rosy the SP rises and then its becomes too expensive so unlikely to buy more so move on to look for something else, which is likely to be having negative news also. Off to see the outlaws but it wont be Sunday but the following Tuesday but will be saying until the weekend. Do Debs do cactus as well as flowers!

Char333 This wasn't a correction it was just the market moving. It has been unusually stable of late and generally on the rise. A correction is normally 10% and IMV is needed to bring valuations down a tad and bring better buying opportunities. This might be the start and events in the news might make things more jittery and prone to over reactions but Im waiting for markets to come off the boil somewhat. Maybe I have (or want) a different outlook as I look for income shares for that income rather than the SP rises and its the steady income rather than the fluctuating SP that means more. Plus I want to add when the market is down not up even if I expect that over time the SP will be higher. If a couple of % scares you just wait for 30%

I had noticed shorts were pushing 10% or so. It looks like I'm getting good at picking shorter shares, soon I'll have the top ten. Fool are changeable, Im not saying the Brokers are. Most stick with a price for a while and only update on trading updates or big events such as an acquisition. Most posters moan about brokers but only ever see a price target and a recommendation but not the reasons behind the report. Most are opinions just as valid as yours and mine. That particular brokers view was drawn to my attention by someone else and confusing because it said they were doing better than the broker was expecting but the price action didn't follow. I would have expected to see an upgrade! No I dont have issues with any posters arguing the price up or down, including Arsenal. Their view is their view and its ok to support it. I do take issue with those who make personal remarks, including Arsenal. I tend to be happier when the ex divi date is in my wake and I'm sailing towards the island of Collection!

I got a confused message from Barclays, better than they expected but lowering it further with a target of 480p. I dont really follow brokers mush have been really low before then. Best I get some funds ready for a top up, Are Barclays the lowest caller on RR.
