Found out why fcf is not improving, its a mixture of having done better than expected this year -£300m to +£100m was at the top end anyway and the £100m next year allows for a plus/minus £150m in the figures. So still some scope for improvement unless they want to use all cash instead of shares to do the buyout.

Sorry Dan, just trying to make suggestions to avoid the tax (legally) and of course its down to personal details if any or all work. The more you have the better or worse depending on the situation. Taxes do change and are designed to move money from one to another, deemed more worthy. I understand that you are miffed with the change, most who loose out are. I dont suppose you quit your job because you paid tax at 33 percent when you started or the personal allowance was half the current rates. I suspect that allowance will be targeted for more cuts in the future so tax planning should be looked into IMO. Still £20k tax free allowance is generous and some wont even earn that in a year. Dan, have you considered selling and buying back to dodge the divi? Im no tax expert but capital gains might be cheaper. As for ISA costs, I note IWEB have reduced theirs to £25 and £5 dealing fee. The only other suggestion is moving into a lower divi payer or even none payer and sell a tad under CGT when you need some cash. The ISA limits do rise this year. I understand the woe is me sentiment but suggest many who dont ever post here will have little sympathy. Go to casualty with your sore wallet and get some of that tax usage back!

I see lawyers are suing RR in a class action because the engines "could" have caused the loss of life on MH370. To be fair they are also doing class actions against anything that "could" have caused the crash. I wouldn't be surprised if they also sued Fyffes in case there was a banana skin on the runway. It makes a mockery of the system but lawyers will get paid no matter what. I see RR were cleared in the Shoreham airshow crash even if there was a fault found in the engine. Its been attributed to pilot error and might be a matter for the police. I need to read the report in detail but it might be a week or so as I dont get home till late Sat night early Sunday morning and have a busy schedule. It might have to wait until the weekend after .

movingonup, the results we as expected, well slightly better. The SP had risen, quite a lot in anticipation and was fully valued. The outlook going forward looks to be more difficult and progress is now expected to be less, hence the drop off and profit taking. Its got a fairly high P/E for a supermarket and low yield and the E wont be taking up as much slack now as previously hopped.

Yes things are getting tougher for debs, lots of headwinds to contend with. Not heard much about rate changes and how debs will fair although there might be some help for the worst affected in today's budget. As for worthless opinions, even greats like Buffet get things wrong now and again. Its what you learn from it that matters. As long as they can afford the divi, 40p looks good.

Well that day is now here. Papers have speculated on same subject but it does not appear to have been leaked early like some "expected" announcements. Not sure on the merits of delaying any implementation, apart from my divi's but then it might depend on how or why they spin on any reduction.

For SL holders nothing will change up to the deal. The same really for ADN. When it becomes AberdeenSL, the new bigger identity will be run like the old SL., so again no real change. ADN holders will effectively take a divi cut as the yield is currently higher until the AberdeenSL progressive divi policy overtakes the old ADN. Hopefully the bigger identity, with the cost savings should allow the divi to rise as it has been nicely. They estimated overtaking ADN divis in a couple of years.

Well the fines have been booked this year although cash will be going out over the next five. Cap Ex not being bump up too much either so need to delve deeper into the fcf staying level. It was only a talking point.

I'm more confused now! I was asking you to highlight what it was that you saw which makes you think its going to go down so much as you seem so confident. saying things are looking rosy at Morribobs. Profit and revenue to be up debt to be down. They are even forecasting a 7% rise in the divi. I'll take some of that
