Spot on, Geo. Farminees will play hardball. Talk comparing valuations based on prospective resources ignores that GBP have to meet seismic obligations first, drilling is years away.
I suppose there's a possibility of an extension, but the longer it takes, the more funds just to keep the lights on become pressing.

BMD has a good ear, but imv is not one to rely on. I'm more wary than most of placings ; but can't see why one would happen now. Post drill results, mb, but even then I'm dubious. Wait and see.....

Too many here assuming success, never guaranteed. Reports last week were unsubstantiated, so we await the official release.

Bear in mind there are many reasons for drilling deeper, or longer, and those here saying it indicates more Bs of barrels maym or may not, be right. And a deepwater play, with high capex 4 dveloment where there is no existing infrastructure, needs to be both big, and flow at high bpd from each well.

Huge upside here in the ST if these drills come in ; but ultimately a FI is key.

2y extensions will need to show progress on the seismic obligation, that requires a FI ; majors can play hardball accordingly.

It's not the route into RUS that bothers me. It's the possible impact of sanctions on RUS on the way OUT.

Anyway, altho soccess 4 Shell/Total would certainly see a spike here, the real news imv investors here should be awaiting is a FO of the seismic obligation. And failure at Venus/Graff might have little impact on professional assessment of prospects here.

I don't thimk you can make that assumption there have been plenty of drills where time ovrrun is down to attempts to resolve drilling issues, and/or to verify inconclusive or less than perfect results.
Either it will hit or it won't.
