Seems to be too many sellers taking a small profit ATM which is preventing this from rising. Hopefully the weak hands will be flushed out soon allowing the SP to continue its journey back to £5 and beyond!

This morning although somewhat laboured. One hopes that the SP regains some of its earlier post results' poise above £5. That doesn't seem to me to be an outrageous expectation given the positive press quoted below 👇

America is the world's largest market place without which all other economies would collapse. It's almost twice as big as the EU's and almost x3 China's and it achieves that with a smaller population and in the case of China, much smaller! Be careful what you wish for, Xhita!

Once the tariff situation is agreed with all the different countries and tax cuts and deregulation is implemented, the US economy will boom and we'll all be looking on with great envy from this side of the pond! The UK also requires radical economic policies to be enacted to stimulate growth but ofcourse we won't get them from our woke, socialist Labour government. The UK and probably Europe too are doomed to perpetual stagnation and decline. Wonder what the European's will say about China when they start dumping cheap manufactured goods that they now can't sell to the USA, into their market? China is a menace to other world economies as they don't play by the rules and don't consume enough to create a big enough market for others to export into. It's virtually one-way traffic from them. So maybe world trade might become a bit more balanced as a result of Trump's policies, which ironically would help China and importantly the Chinese people to become more prosperous.

I'd guess at 740ish! It'll be held back on the China tariffs continuation. If that gets sorted then back into the eights and beyond!

Nobody seems interested! A bit odd considering how much it's tanking. Averaged down a bit but fear of catching a falling knife has put me off going too crazy. Scary times for investors. Trump has put out on truth social that it's a good time to buy! (stocks I'm sure he means) Will fortune favour the brave?

The bottom here? I'm guessing supply chain worries have been accentuated by the heightening tariff war thus putting pressure on the shareprice. It's all very regrettable.

Hang Seng futures down almost 1000 points. Trump's upping the ante will cause extreme mayhem. This is going back to £6 if we're lucky! Should've stayed on the sidelines!!

Unfortunately, the threat to impose further tariffs on China are holding this and other China play stocks, back. HSBC also struggling. It's never straight forward 😔

Fair point, Clued but you can't build up your manufacturing base on the back of a services trade surplus. The US wants to get back to making stuff to provide jobs and ensure their self sufficiency in case of war etc.

I guess a lot of folks are angry because they feel America owes them a living! How dare they stick up for themselves and try to address the monstrous trade deficit they have with the rest of the world! I mean those Chinese seem like fair minded folks who wouldn't treat the USA unfairly on trade nor would they steal US IP to incorporate it into their own exported products! Perish the thought! And those Germans always play fair too. I mean it was just good luck that the Euro came into existence and gave them an opportunity to price their products for export at extremely competitive rates giving them an advantage over other trading nations, particularly the USA!

Bought a few back again today. Missed the morning dip into the 600s (slept in!) but hopefully we might see a consolidation followed by a rise from here. If Xi and Trump can calm the rhetoric and get talking this should recover pronto. Think the bottom could be in. Dipped my toe back in as it's always encouraging to see a director buy. Hopefully we'll see more of that in the days ahead.

The trade imbalance between the US and the rest of the world, particularly China is huge and must be addressed from a US perspective otherwise long-term the US is economically and socially doomed. China has been cheating on trade for years so it's surprising that none of the so-called economists who are currently sporting off about Trump's tariffs, have noticed this! A bit like all the MSM that didn't notice Joe Biden's senility for 4 years! Be careful what you believe. I do think, however, that negotiations will take place and a soft landing on tariffs will be achieved allowing equities to recover. 🤞

I'm out, yet again! Left with a small profit. Have decided to sell everything up as I can't see this tariff situation getting better anytime soon. There just seems to be unprecedented headwinds around every corner. Next on the agenda is war with Iran. Maybe the geopolitical situation is beyond repair. I have no doubt China will up the tariff ante which can only affect stock markets negatively. So disappointed but I'm of an age where I can't afford to watch all my capital drain away. I've lost enough already! Good luck to those who hold tight. I'll probably be back!

Of course there are positives! Oil price down significantly and the pound up to over $1.31! Both big positives for the bottom line! As long as punters keep travelling and why wouldn't they, this will recover. Might take a while but £4 will be seen in the short to medium term and don't forget, IAG isn't just BA!

Not sure I agree there, James! Have you not noticed the worldwide tariff induced market turmoil, causing Pru's SP to significantly retreat? I guess the worry is that it could drop more or will the market stabilise? Seems to me Trump has ended globalisation in one fell swoop! But one hopes there should be enough wealth in China, Hong Kong, India, Africa, Indonesia etc. despite tariffs, to keep Pru in business for years to come. Maybe not having a presence in USA and Europe could still turn out to be a masterstroke! Let's hope so. 🤞
