That's probably why they need a more efficient cracker i.e. to be able to supply more pure hydrogen from the cracked ammonia. I'm guessing this is why and the ABB units are going to be run on pure hydrogen and not on hydrogen from cracked ammonia using a commercially available cracker.

I think AFC is in the last chance saloon. The new products developed by Drs. Randall and Harvey are our only hope. I'm not even sure if they're specifically alkaline fuel cells anymore as the membranes are supplied commercially and could be PEM but who cares as long as they can sell some of them.

AFC had £40 million last October. They won't have it now having spent millions on the new ammonia cracker technology!

The SP action today is disappointing to say the least. Being a GDR shareholder is certainly not a pleasant experience but let's hope we all get rewarded soon for our collective suffering.

It's especially disappointing as the US green sector is flying today but not AFC! Some news on a successful sale would be very welcome but then again we've been hoping for that for literally years now and still no sign. This company never fails to disappoint shareholders. Maybe tomorrow will be different!

Totally agree Ttn. Both are blatant rampers and no doubt have coaxed some more gullible punters into buying in at higher prices. I hope haggis has been banned as his posts are mostly completely irrelevant and designed purely to entice others to buy in. Johnny I think is just a dreamer.

I'm pretty sure if it can detect the relevant gene it will pass the NICE test. I reckon these Genedrive genomic marker tests are easy to assess as they are designed to do one thing well i.e. recognise a particular gene so if they can do that consistently, then it's job done! The only issue here is getting sales over the line in large enough volumes to start making a profit. Once that happens we're off to the races!

Maybe growth stocks are incompatible with high interest rates and inflation. I guess we all probably know that but live in hope anyway!

It was interesting when Bond admitted at the AGM that AFC should not have floated when it did as it was much too early in the development cycle. I think from memory he said 2016 would've been a better time so a full 10 years too early! Definitely a moment of candour from him on the AFC story so far and I felt an acknowledgement that expectations have been unrealistic in the past. He also conceded that AlkaMem is nowhere near ready with one of the main issues being designing it to maintain its structural integrity stating that even a small hole renders the whole membrane unusable so given these difficulties it was thought prudent to put its further development on hold and buy the membranes in to expedite the design of commercially viable products and start to get revenue coming in. The point I'm making is that although AFC have been around for a long time they've spent a lot of it going up blind alleys, however, it now seems that they might finally be honing in on saleable products thanks to relative newcomers Drs. Harvey and Rendall who are clearly first class engineers. Let's hope they finally achieve commercial traction soon as at the current SP there's not much to be cheery about!

The sector is coming under heavy pressure helped along by Plug Power's less than spectacular results as announced today. Making a profit selling electrolysers and fuel cells is clearly still a long way off, hence the market reaction. Let's hope AFC can buck the trend but I can't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe if Bond bought some shares it would give it a lift although I'm not holding my breath on that one. Zeus's £1 call sounds good though. Let's hope it materialises!

Thanks for posting Klunk. A repeat of the AGM presentation more or less. So AlkaMem is not being used and is years away, if ever, from being perfected for commercial use as I have suspected for some time. Whilst it all sounds very positive it's almost as if AFC have started from scratch upon the appointments of Drs. Rendall and Harvey, which is food for thought. I guess Bond deserves credit for keeping the bandwagon running prior to their appointments when he must've known that there was no real prospect in sight for commercialisation for the liquid FC and AlkaMem was not much more than a concept so raising all that money on pure hype was a great achievement. We've now got a second chance here so let's hope it works out and long-term shareholders finally get to reap some just reward, in the fullness of time.
