"Regal Theatres opted against showing the kids’ film. The chain didn’t say why, but throughout the pandemic some cinemas have failed to reach a deal on splitting ticket sales with studios that premiere movies both digitally and in theaters at the same time. Such arrangements cut into theater revenue, and cinema owners usually demand some compensation in exchange. A spokesman for Regal didn’t respond to a message seeking comment."

"Walt Disney said it has taken in $125 million in online revenue from “Black Widow” and said the picture, which prompted a lawsuit from star Scarlett Johansson, has outperformed other Marvel films. The numbers were revealed in court filings Friday."

Just watched People Just So Nothing; Big In Japan and it was 99.5% empty.
Only one in 200 seats.
Like individual Paw Patrol experiences though it matters not a jot.

We have had company numbers for attendance levels jist over a week ago and we can all monitor industry from websites providing the actual trends.
Here is to another week closer to seeing levels that work for us :-)

Forgot something from my Tuesday visit, reminded after tonight's visit.

Pre movie trailers and then advertising:
One of the adverts was for Disney + and for Star which some have you believe is competition to Cinema.
Felt it shows how the studios and theatres realise importance of working together and maximising returns for both.

In Scotland definitely still can't book and sit next to anyone.

Seems little doubt UK is ahead of USA cinema recovery. Many of us here witnessing it by personal visits and the sites that monitor box office confirming so (though nothing near 90% yet being reported regularly).

Seems Engurland is certainly more lax than Scotland (or Scotland more over cautious depending on your viewpoint) regards seating. Was my understanding Cineworld had committed for now to keep the space between seating as per various reports and their own announcement few weeks back (maybe quietly done away with it now!?).

Keep in mind it is Regal and the USA we particularly need going gangbusters though.

Personally still hopeful, but more cautious than yourself on the short term BC.

Stick that other c. £4.5m in and sure that will get a bit of a ripple on share price for us all :-)

Encouraging advert for the value of theatrical windows even in current still difficult times.

Basilius in 6 months it has hardly moved 1% , not sure too need worry about monitoring the exchange rate in relation to your Cine investment.

Plumber, with not a single film having done $500m excluding China box office so far this year I think it's a pretty big call to suggest 7 movies to do that sort of level in coming months.
I would be gobsmacked if Ghostbusters did anything like that for example.
Also mind not all box office revenue is for the theatres (c. Half as an industry wide estimate maybe).

Basic point you make of more films possibly generating higher box office in last quarter of this year is reasonable though I think.
Well Mooky and other industry insiders believe so and are banking on it.

Am pretty sure China will be there in a year. cruis.

Don't see Venom being anywhere near that, Bond might be closest this year, though Top Gun Maverick also ought to do big numbers.

"Plenty has been written and regurgitated on here time and time again (by non holders imho) about how there is the lack of depth of film releases. Guess what Venom is delayed. Hotel Transylvania now to streaming, yet same said posters are now spouting that they see more films out there. The calender of releases hasn't changed other than that."
