said there would be a major mining discovery announcement within next 48 hours (statement made on 9th May). Nothing announced as yet but here’s hoping he was referring to Solg and maybe in relation to BN or possibly Aggy where the drills have been turning but little or no information released! Could Solg have been keeping this under wraps waiting for the right time to make an announcement? All just pure speculation but it’s nice to imagine what would happen if we made such an announcement! Boom would be my guess :) Have a great weekend all and roll on Monday!

Near-term catalysts expected to generate re-rating. The company is actively drilling in southern Ecuador at its Porvenir project while simultaneously working towards a maiden PEA at Alpala; both in Q2/19.

If correct this really could be a game changer as we have been waiting so long to get the drill turning at some of the other identified targets. Let’s hope Red Cloud are correct about Solg actively drilling at Porvenir as this would really shake things up!

Cookie - Some miss reporting going on this week re Bed & ISA transactions as mine at 13.47 on Monday were reported as 2 sells ( about 8 seconds apart) when in reality there was a £20k sell from my share dealing account and a corresponding buy into my ISA account and I have noticed similar miss reporting through the week where there have been two almost identical transactions only seconds apart but both recorded as sells!

Maybe this is one of the main reasons why NM hasn’t released the PEA as he wants to get those all important drilling permits for the other tenements and ideally drill a few holes and hopefully produce some exciting core samples thereby putting up a defencive barrier to minimise the chances of a cheap take over.

I am sure we will have a positive resource update after all the additional drilling, however I strongly suspect that Solg would have preferred to have completed the Cascabel drilling with 4 or 5 rigs and sent the rest to the other high priority targets across Ecuador. The problem of course is they are still awaiting drilling permits so until then they are utilising all of the rigs at Cascabel but I am sure this will immediately change once the permits come through!

I’ve spent a few hours today scouring the web for articles relating to the elections / referendum.

The upshot being that the parties of both Moreno and Correa haven’t faired too well and it’s the smaller parties and individuals such as Pérez (who surprised many by becoming the new Azuay Prefect) who have faired the best in the elections.

The problem with Pérez is that the province of Azuay includes some of our “Green Rock” tenements one of which “Sharug” is one of Solgs priority targets and Perez is very anti mining!

Pads - I posted this link at 19.41 but no one seemed interested which was quite surprising as this province includes one of our priority targets which I explained in my previous post!

Cookie - Voting was completed on Sunday and the counting has only just about been completed with a few results declared including the referendum on mining in the region covering the Loma Larga Mine (see link below)

Incidentally the chap Yaku Pérez who surprisingly won the Azuay province stood on a platform based around anti mining and I believe his province covers one of our priority targets “Sharug” as well as the tenements at Azuay itself.

Let’s hope central government gets its act together and uses its powers via the courts to ensure mining doesn’t suffer because of local opposition

Looks like counting of votes delayed due to various blackouts across the country and some “anomalies” with no results declared last night and counting suspended at midnight which will resume today. You couldn’t make it up!

is once again wrong! True Close was 38.50 showing a rise of 0.50 on the day and perhaps more importantly closing above 38 hopefully boding well for a move very shortly into the 40’s. GLA

Pretty sure I’ve read somewhere that this referendum has been stopped by the courts and will now go to the High Court to make a final judgement on whether it can go ahead or be cancelled indefinitely

Maybe the reason for the delay as jumping straight into a PFS sometime in Q2 could potentially put Solg on course to produce a BFS by mid 2020 (instead of the end of 2020) which would be just ahead of the BHP standstill agreement expiring in Aug 20. Nicely teed up for a big juicy bid based on a fully costed business model which as NM knows only to well equals a much bigger offer than a mere PEA! Personally I would much prefer to wait until summer next year with the possibility of achieving £2 per share or above than let it go for less than £1 per share this year! IMHO and GLA

NM is keeping up the “taking to production” pressure by making the following new appointments in 2019 (Slide 12)

Chief Finance Manager – Governments & Banks
Head of Underground Development and Mining
Head of Metallurgy Process & Plant
Head of Infrastructure Support and Development

In effect he is calling the bluff of the majors about taking to production so they can either make a “sensible” offer (For either all of Solg or Cascabel / Alpala) or sit by and watch the creation of “An Emerging Copper Gold Major” which surely they would move mountains to avoid - or maybe I should have said pay Billions to avoid! Think NM is playing a great game of poker and hopefully we will all reap the benefits with a jackpot payday in the not too distant future! GLA

This is based on no offers for either Cascabel or Solg but if one or the other comes in then would hope the SP will be at least above Qali’s guess and maybe nearer to Porto’s if it’s for the whole of Solg and hopefully by then we will have started drilling some of the other tenements and unearthed some more gems!

Wso - The only time Pad will be done on this board is when Solg finally get taken over and sadly this BB will cease along with the good and great contributors including Pad.
