Consensus now seems to be that we have enough funds to take us into Q2 next year by which time either the longer term funding should have been sorted or we may be the subject of an offer? Perhaps you should stick to your day job looking after your tenants!

Unsurprisingly LSE once again showing incorrect finish price (price above was at around 15.30) with the final close at 16.30 coming in just up on Weds @ 20.20

Particularly liked the following from the article in mining.com

Construction should begin shortly after the board of Llurimagua Copper Company S.A., the 51%-49% joint venture between Codelco and Enami, approves the agreement that formalizes the entity. That announcement, local paper El Mercurio reports, is expected to come this week. Construction at Llurimagua is expected to take up to four years.

Other than Llurimagua, another two major copper projects are due to be in production by 2024: SolGold’s (LON, TSX:SOLG) Cascabel and Lumina Gold’s (TSX-V:LUM) (OTC:LUMAF) Cangrejos.

So there you have it. Construction of Llurimagua is expected to take 4 years and Cascabel is expected to be in production by 2024! So maybe just 4 1/2 years till we see metal coming out the ground and let’s not forget that once we move into the Development Stage this should see a significant re-rating as Development ratings are often only a little lower than Production ratings so a decent possibility that we are only about 18 months away from this milestone and with such a massive Tier1 resource it’s more than likely we could see the SP moving above the £1 mark once we move into the Development phase.

Patience is what we all need (mirroring the mantra of Warren B) and in a relatively short timescale we will all reap the benefits! Happy Days really are just around the corner :)

As your back posting about Solg I’m assuming you have reinvested after you posted on 11th July that you were now out? However if that’s not the case then I must say it’s extremely nice of you to take the time to trawl through the internet and post information to help the good folk invested in Solg. AK - Yes I agree re the comparison of their FDN project vs Solgs Alpala. However don't forget that Lundin have lots more in their portfolio:-

Lundin Mining is a diversified Canadian base metals mining company with operations in Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Sweden and the United States of America, primarily producing copper, nickel and zinc

So at this stage comparing Solg to Lundin is a bit like apples vs pears! However IF we do move to become a miner and take Alpala plus other targets to production then I would expect our SP to be similar or even greater than Lundin especially if we find more tier 1 mines!

The reason their shares trade at around £4 vs ours at around 30p is mainly because they are actually mining and generating revenue (think it was 1.7bn in 2018) plus they pay their shareholders a dividend! Now in time Solg could do the same if one or note of their targets were to be mined however you need to bear in mind that they only have 700m issued shares vs Solgs circa 1.9bn. So in theory if we were eventually to match their revenue/ profit then allowing for us having roughly 2 1/2 times more shares issued this would give us an SP of around £1.60.
All hypothetical but worth bearing in mind :)

Hi Jenny. Think it’s more because there is little or no news presently as opposed to the good folk not posting because of other less scrupulous posters! Think you’ll find that there will be a flurry of posts when any meaningful news breaks but in the meantime let’s enjoy having no recent posts from X-ray not that it would bother me as I have him filtered but I can seen the responses from others to his constant de-ramping which has become tedious bordering on obsessive so guessing he has nothing else to occupy his time which clearly makes him a rather sad individual who perhaps we should pity as he is clearly in need of some help IMHO. Good luck to all true Solgers - our time will come and when it does it will be truely life changing for us all.

The vice minister for mining :- Benalcázar indicated that it is not the first time that the authorities face this situation. In April 2019, a contingent of 218 uniformed and five prosecutors evicted 40 irregular miners in the sector El Cielito , from the parishes of Jijón and Caamaño, of the canton of Mira (Carchi). "The concessionary company Sold Gold reported the incident and asked the authority for support," he said.

Given the above timing it seems blindingly obvious to me that the illegal miner who recently called for a local mining referendum was one of the aforementioned miners who were evicted by the authorities and therefore he was seeking some kind of personal revenge against Solg

Thankfully common sense prevailed and the future of mining in Ecuador now sits quite rightly under the jurisdiction and guidance of the Ecuadorean Government which should prove beneficial to Solg in there quest to drill and mine other key targets across the country without the need to worry about some disaffected local with a grudge to bear!

And what really caught my attention was the bit about “further drill testing of the RAPIDLY EVOLVING AGUINAGA PROSPECT” Now wouldn’t that set the cat amongst the pigeons if Aggy finally revealed her riches?

Lots of great news to come on all fronts and don’t think it will be long now before we get a steady stream which will propel the SP upwards and more in line with the true value of what we know is in the ground.

Now we have clarity from the CC and the threat of local referendums to destabilise mining projects has been removed it wouldn’t surprise me if Solg announced that drilling is finally going to commence in some of the regional targets such as Povenir and La Huenca (apologies for the spelling!)

My understanding from interviews with NM / JW earlier this month was that we had drilling permits and were just waiting for the water permits before commencing drilling

Imagine the excitement when we get confirmation that drilling is starting at some of these key regional targets! Certainly wouldn’t want to be out of Solg when this news drops as it will certainly ignite a clamour to buy shares in Solg which should see the SP move comfortably back into the 40’s IMO.

For me the most telling paragraph is:-

In this decision, the Court also highlighted that it is unconstitutional to ask the inhabitants of certain provinces about the matters relevant to other provinces, and that mining is a matter of national interest ( that cannot be opined upon by the inhabitants of a particular province ) . A popular consultation in a region or province that is not a national referendum may not consist of a question that would imply legal reform by amending or new legislation. The future of mining in Ecuador is therefore to be determined by the Ecuadorean Federal government.

So in summary it is unconstitutional to hold local referendums which may affect other provinces and as such only a national referendum would have any validity and therefore THE FUTURE OF MINING IN ECUADOR IS TO BE DETERMINED BY THE ECUADOR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

This judgement clearly puts the future of mining under the control of Government and puts a stop to local referendums on the merits of mining. Happy days methinks for all Solgers and hopefully this clarity should help boost investor confidence and see the SP return back to the high 30’s in the near future. GLA

Maybe the attached from a group called “Rainforest Action Group” could explain why the decision to ban mining in areas where forests are protected doesn’t impact Solgs tenements at Carnegie Ridge

If you look at Page 1 on the link below from their web site you can see in dark green the protected rainforest and highlighted in red where this spills into any of the Carnegie Tenements and whist their is some overlap it is minimal in the east of the tenement area and therefore my take is that Solgs operations do not and will not impact on the rainforest and therefore the ruling regarding protection of the forest should not affect Solg IMHO
