In August 2018, the CPCCS-T purged the Constitutional Court judges, alleging that their predecessors in the original CPCCS had not acted independently when designating the judges. Although new judges have been selected in a questionable process, Ecuador has been without a Constitutional Court for months.

From the above and other articles I have read it seems there was a vacuum from August 2018 until after the recent May 19 elections when there was no permanent Constitutional Court (They had an interim court during this period) So post May 19 new members of the CC have been elected and maybe this explains the timing of this court action which coincides with the appointment of new judges?

All pure speculation on my part but could explain why this issue has suddenly come to the fore?

My guess would be that as full Board Members Jason & Anna can now enjoy the benefit of share options which is a bit like putting on the proverbial “golden handcuffs”

DG1 - Yes I picked up on this straight away but didn’t want to post as there was enough negativity around and didn’t want to add yet more!

The line in question from the RNS reads:-

Drilling is scheduled to commence on regional projects early next year subject to the government indicating a clear administrative path for obtaining the relevant environmental and water permits.

So my take from this is that Solg don’t want to waste time and money drilling other regional targets until such time as the “environmental” issue has been satisfactorily resolved ie:- Nick doesn’t want anymore calls for referendums impacting on regional drilling operations so he wants to wait until there is legal clarity from the government before proceeding with drilling.

Just my take on things and may be wide of the mark but if I was in his shoes I would most likely do the same

Addicknt - Regarding a precedent being set from the recent previous referendum it should be noted that the Government did not object to the referendum within the prescribed timelines and therefore their objection in that case was deemed inadmissible and consequently the referendum was approved.

Clearly this time around the Gov have got their act together and along with other major bodies including International Mining Companies, Unions and supporting Mayors they are objecting to the proposal which hopefully will be rejected by the court.

My understanding from what I have read is the court date is on 5th June and they then have up to 20 days to deliver their verdict so the application for a referendum will hopefully get rejected immediately by the court on the 5th or if they need time to consider it may drag on for up to 20 days before they deliver their verdict. Hope it’s the former and if the later then hope it doesn’t drag on for the full 20 days which won’t do my blood pressure any good lol

Earthling - My experience of Zoros tells me he is the one who should be likened to a rattle snake! My take on his gloating post is that he had sold his 500k shares and the proceeds are sitting in his Stocks & Shares ISA as cash waiting until the events have unfolded before he decides whether to reinvest or not hence his “peace of mind” Saud it before and will say it again Zoros is a hypocrite of the highest order and shouldn’t be trusted!

Golly gosh anyone reading the way Zoros jumps to defend the indefensible xraytom might conclude that they were one and the same? Heaven forbid that someone may stoop so low as to create another moniker so he could talk the stock down and make a killing? But then again Zoros is a sly old devil who doesn’t practise what he preaches so I’ll leave the good folks on hear to work out why he is so so defensive about Tommy Boy. With any new poster I am always happy to welcome them as after all we were all first time posters once :) However I am somewhat sceptical of our latest new member given his moniker is “cosmiclightening” and only recently we had another new poster called “xraytom” who has upset quite a few people with both the content and tone of his posts. So guess the question is can it be a coincidence that we have two new members both of whom have similar monikers resembling Marvel Comic characters? Could this just be purely coincidental? Guess only time will tell as sometimes it takes a little while to establish whether a new member is posting in good faith or has other ulterior motives. GLTA genuine investors in Solg

Just for complete clarity I really don’t mind if your rich as there is nothing wrong with that. What I do mind is you giving a lecture to the good folk on here telling them to stop salivating over the prospect of making a lot of money from Solg. I remember quite clearly you doing this in a very patronising and condescending way. Oh heaven forbid I thought at the time that we should dare to dream of becoming rich when it was very clear from your previous posts that you had already made your fortune. As I said hypocrisy of the highest order and I just want other posters to be reminded of the kind of person you really are! Clearly it’s one rule for you and another for us mere peasants!

Zoros - For your info I haven’t seen his question because he is filtered so surprise surprise I didn’t reply! My point to other posters is to simply filter him so he can’t peddle his endless drivel. Re yourself I seem to recall some months ago you had a right old go at LTH’s for daring to dream about making their fortunes! In fact you derided them and called them desperate and greedy. But oh what a hypocrite you are as previous posts show you are not short of a bob or two and from what I recall you made your fortune in property. Q - It’s clear to me that “Tommy Boy” is here to disrupt the board either for personal reasons or maybe he is remunerated in some way by persons or corporations unknown for making negative posts and sowing the seeds of doubt into the minds of Solg investors? Either way his motives are very transparent and therefore as someone who has done a lot of research into Solg and has a lot of skin invested in the company I will not tolerate his deramping posts which are either purposely misleading or just plain downright lies! He is and will remain in my trash bin with all of the other bottom crawling low life’s who have crawled onto this BB over the past few years and like them I am sure he will eventually disappear down the drain he came from. My advice for what it’s worth is to put this worthless specimen on filter so you can engage in proper debate with normal trustworthy folk who have integrity and a proper moral compass all of which Xray wouldn’t recognise even if it jumped up and bit him on his worthless a++e!

And of course if Newcrest make a move then BHP under the terms of their standstill agreement are allowed to respond and make a counter bid which would really turn the heat up and most likely start a bidding war which can only be good news for all shareholders :)

The country, which has been working to overhaul its mining law since President Lenin Moreno took office in 2017, will issue new legislation “in the coming days” that will make the country more competitive and attract more foreign investment, deputy mining minister Fernando Benalcázar said.
