Unfortunately I view everything from SOH through a negative lens now. It wasn’t always that way, I used to be filled with optimism when he posted stuff like this or said it in interviews but at some point I had to stop getting annoyed at him for saying stuff and start taking responsibility for believing it.

As always, I hope this time there is something actually substantial coming on Sweet but at the moment his response reads like everything he’s ever said about Sweet which boils down to, ‘there’s good news coming’.

I think any substantive Sweet news immediately relates this to a multiple of 10, which is why I’m cautious of it coming soon. Raising funds with that valuation round the corner doesn’t make much sense….to me anyway.

I don’t suppose trust in SOH could be diminished too much further as its already at rock bottom, but he’s doing his best to drive it through the floor.

This sale in a buyer’s market for Skin reeks of desperation. Funds must have been required desperately with limited ways of raising them, he had to resort to doing something he said he wasn’t going to do a few months ago.

I also think this pretty much abolishes any chance we see of seeing Sweet in some form in H1 as promised. If there was a chance that we would be seeing Sweet soon, he would be able to raise funds by issuing new shares in Opti at a price which would surely be boosted significantly and therefore represent good value for money.

Lastly, this is a great sign for holders in Skin. Historically he has timed his sales poorly even if they looked good over a short timescale. I expect Skin to be back at 20p very soon and Opti out of pocket.

I agree it’s become a major part of our value but mainly because our market cap has shrunk to such a small level because of that complete lack of performance in Opti.

If we had come anywhere near reaching past projections in sales and product development, then our 5% in Skin would be a nice side punt. It is only because of the utter failure here that we rely on Skin so heavily to keep us going and to inflate our market cap. That’s why I say the real and much larger issue is what has happened at Opti.

Lords, I know we disagree strongly on Opti’s strategy with SBTX and I have added considerably there under 10p in the expectation that the share price will recover sharply post suspension, Opti’s stake now is so small that we can’t lay any of our problems at their doorstep.

They are on their last legs though. With the rate of AI development their ability to charge huge fees for extended periods will be severely diminished as AI models encroach making huge data easily consumable.

It's probably even possible now with a half decent accountant asking the right questions.

Pretty sure there’s no obligation to bid as they’re separate entities.

From my point of view, the advantage of having them here is that they’re investors not traders so won’t be shifting stock at the slightest gain in SP. It’s also more than just at punt at the levels MD is invested in. The disadvantage in having such large shareholders is that if they do want out for any reason, the price gets tanked.

Either way, I’m enjoying the novelty of this at the moment having never been invested in a company that’s had its shares suspended before. I think it helps a lot that I’m fairly optimistic about the outcome

That’s true and I should have clarified. The loss-making is part of the scenario and is a part of lots of AIM companies. How that loss contributes to future prospects in the key factor when investors allocate value to a share. In SBTX’ case for example they see tangible growth and a path towards free cash flow. In Opti’s case, the core business is seen as a drain on the holdings which will all be eventually sold off to pay for the costs of a core business that has been around for over a decade and still isn’t close to free cash flow. There is little trust in projections from SOH because of a litany of past failures.

Look at yesterday’s update. A year ago the talk on this board was of how things were looking great because of the projected sales through Morepen and Nouri, yesterday they don’t even warrant a mention. This has been the story for over a decade from SOH, big announcements of future sales only for them not to materialise. That’s why the core business here is valued at a negative because it literally diminishes the positives which are our holdings in two companies that are making the strides we should be making here

Costs are too high, but the promise is they will lower them. We’ll see.

The core business is not free because it is making a loss. The value of the core business is a a negative detracting from the value of the holdings in SBTX and PBX. Prospective investors have watched those holdings dwindle in order to prop up the loss making core business and are wary of losing their money by continuing to watch the positive holdings being sold off to subsidise loss making areas.

On the face of it, this is a positive update but within the context of this company where trust in promises has been decimated, wise shareholders will maintain a wait and see approach.

When those ifs and the cost-cutting become solid actual numbers in the p&l column, that’s when the rerate will happen

Don’t think it will tank.

On balance, this is looking like results will re-rate a solid business that has had some recent turmoil. Given the suspension, this is the last chance to get on the right side of that trade. Of course there’s Rick, nobody is giving away free money after all, but it’s a risk that is loaded in favour of the buyer in my opinion.

Your theory leaves out the part about the price a partner will have to pay for the data depending on when they receive it and how complete it is.

At the moment, there isn't much data so the price would be cheap. With AVACTA running the trial, the price for that data goes up. If it's a success, it goes up exponentially.

At the moment, partners will expect a significant discount. Down the line, they won't.

It is a risk for sure, but in my opinion, it's a calculated risk based on our science and our scientists' belief about what the trial will show.

I reacted poorly to this raise yesterday but having had the chance to think about it I'm happy.

Insider buying at a small discount is a great sign. The amount raised is practical and we remain in control of what could be a game-changing technology with the chance to add a couple of years to my early retirement plans
